  • beautiful!

  • Do you have a boyfriend ? I love you.

  • This is beautiful. I'm sure Sandy is smiling down and approving of your version.

  • THIS IS DIVINE. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

  • certainly well played

  • Do you have any LPs, CDs, EPs, or the like?

You're brilliant. If I ever marry, she'll need to be a guitar-playing singer.

  • Marry me

  • Really loved your voice,so gentle and a pleasure to listen to.

  • beautiful

  • Wonderful. Just wonderful.

  • Have just discovered your Joni Mitchell covers. They are like ripe fruit - full-flavoured and simple, without the need for enhancers. Do you ever play in Austria - where I am now, or Brighton, which I visit occasionally?

  • I've listened to quite a few versions of this song. Yours is beautifult. Thanks!

  • I've listened to quite a few versions of this song. Yours is beautifult. Thanks!

  • nice one lisa

  • A nice rendition!

  • Lovely, simply lovely.

  • I think your wonderful!!!

  • wonderful i thoroughly enjoyed your rendition of this song , you have a wonderful lilting voice similar to sandy

  • Thank you for this, she lives on through you. I need to find a hanky now.

  • gorgeous, utterly beautiful 5*

  • Well cool. nice one. I think in some ways I prefer your arrangement to Sandy Denny's. Yea it's different but you've stamped your own personality and style on this song which I think is great instead of trying to do an outright copy. . Not many people could do that.. Love your voice too and great playing.

  • Great Almost as good as Sandy !!!!!! well done. mmmmmm very nice

  • fab, xx im gonna click on judy collins now,

  • Beautiful, truly beautiful!

  • crying

  • just loving this..very beautiful...well done....mary

  • keep it up. You seem happy with your music and don't let anyone change you or corrupt your intentions, and never sell out.... Keep the music real and with soul....Sandy would be proud you are giving her music life... write originals too and possibly form a Fairport Convention tribute band... many would pay to se such a band. take care and mind how you go..., God bless.

  • This is brilliant ! I like your humility. Your 'more info' says: "...If you like my version of this check out Sandy's, as hers is far more beautiful than I could have hoped to have achieved!..."

well to tell the truth when I first heard you sing , you sounded so similar I actually at first thought you were miming ! Nice to see someone with talents not being shamelessly arrogant or boastful or self promoting as many musicians can be nowadays.

  • Your voice is heart warming. The pentangle and Sandy Denny were my favorite musician. I'm amazing your great work.

  • Woow que lastima que aquí en México no se dio a conocer mucho.

La canción te quedo hermosa esta super.

    Excelente Trabajo.

    Great work.

  • Sometimes I can't listen to Sandy Denny without crying.

  • nicely sung

  • Really nice version. Your voice is haunting.

  • Very, very good.

  • Lacks resonance and is bland, sorry!

  • Your take on this is genuinely beautiful, I have heard Sandy singing it with the advantage of greater backing instrumentation and in my head I put the two of your voices together and you are right up there with her, Sandy may well have enjoyed hearing you

  • 6 stars..your voice is beautiful !

  • You have a beautiful old-school folk voice. Your rendition is haunting and moving. Brilliant. Thanks.

  • So beautifull. I'll see your others videos

  • Yes it's different from Sandy's which was, after all, made with the benefit of multiple tracking etc. But your version is lovely. Keep em coming.

  • I am hooked on the beauty of this version. It is almost haunting in it's starkness. It is as if she is out there, still singing somewhere. If only the voice possessed less loneliness. A confession I am proud of, I absolutely loved this woman and her amazing stark or sometimes lilting vocal tones. Listening to Sandy all these years later certainly puts the fools posing as artists on TV's "Who's Got Talent" in their place. Will anybody be listening to them in another 30 years? Ha Ha.

  • Beautiful voice, similar to Sandy Danny's voice!

  • Beautiful :)

  • The Sandy Denny studio of this is such a operatic soaring sweeping production. Lisa's version shows an intimate side to the song.

  • my remarks are not directed to the present singer.

  • yeah mate , I'm learning my pentatonic scale...........I don't hate irish folk, i hate everyone in equal measure (i'm come from irish stock myself)..... I just hate this globalisation

  • Meanwhile us aussies here........... In the 1990's the bloody Irish had their boom..I met these irish folk in Melbourne, and they had a big boom in there're country,? They never gave a shit for me. Now I am s'posed to care for these irish folk ,. Who squandered their fortune?.. fuck em. I aint look'in after these dreadheads anymore.

  • more than 3 chords, ,,,ok. i love it but it's too long. I never painted for nothing.

  • very well done. great song. can you sing a case of you. JM

  • Beautifully done, Lisa. Cheers.

  • a very good try, well done !!

  • Very accomplished - I didn't realize at first that this was a cover. Glad other people are also interested in Sandy Denny.

  • Almost cried, silly really, but this song played while i ran free with life. If you write, then do as Sandy did, give others something new to 'listen to' it is really needed more now than ever! you may bring someone else close to tears in forty years time. Played with love & feeling thats why it's touching. Now get out there! create, make mistakes, and smile sometimes, the Worlds' still a beautiful place give us all a lift.

  • yes i like it, well done

  • Love to tune to your song! Thanks...

  • Absolutely beautiful!

  • beautiful.

    good version, i must say

  • Very nicely done 5*

  • Wonderfull, your voice is just Fabulous.

  • Lovely!

  • God you're good.

  • You are very talented. To be able to keep that meter, and to have that bass stand out are of themselves to feel accomplished. And to sing as well?

I just started singing a couple weeks ago and was extremely disappointed to find that it doesn't come to you in one sitting. :D

  • It really is a beautiful song. I have three requests: 1) Winter Winds (Sandy Denny), 2) Perfect (Eliza Carthy), 3) Still Life (Kirsty MacColl) Cheers.

  • Wonderful cover of lovely song.

  • I agree with Scragger07--"Bushes and Briars" should be next. You've got the chops to pull it off and it's one of her best (and least appreciated) songs. Keep 'em coming!

  • Beautiful spirit

  • You have a great voice.

  • Nice figerpicking and a sweet voice. You have done the best job with a Sandy song I have seen on youtube.

  • Agreed

  • Oh god! Beautifull...

  • lovely-a great favourite of mine, glad you pronounced trade/made correctly.

  • Inspires me to sing it someday - thanks so much!

  • You've got me weeping here for talent lost. I almost skipped by this video because I expected very little. You did not soil my memory of Sandy's beautiful singing of this marvelous song. How did you come to be obviously enamored of Sandy's work? Please keep it up. I'll now be looking for more of your's. Thanks!

  • brilliant you shoul go a long way

  • Beautiful. Sandy did a version of this song in French too, Ecoute Ecoute.

    Also, encore! How about Blackwaterside?

  • Lisa, next time I come to England I'm coming over to your place with my mandolin and we're going to jam!!! Great job!

  • Hers is more beautiful, but your's is not bad at all. But then again, I love Sandy.

  • hey - I love this song, nice rendition!

  • I am thoroughly impressed by your video and hope you come play near me soon. Hey would you put me on your mailing list? Thanks!

  • Well, I have to confess that I was ready to scoff when I clicked on this video. How can anyone presume to sing Sandy's songs? But I'm not going to scoff at all: I think you do a fine job of it! And you clearly have great taste in music!

  • Sandy's voice was unique and this is one of her most touching songs--I had no expectations for your effort and thought it was wonderful--you captured the essence and I appreciate you posting.

  • You have a great voice Lisa, a real tribute to Sandy, she would have been impressed too.

    Love all your videos.

  • I think you do a beautiful job. My Dad and I watched this - he is more familiar with the original version than I am, and he thought you did a good job at imitating Sandy's singing style.

  • lisa ..i think u would do a good job of curved air's song "melinda more or less"..its on this site too..its a very strange song but good

  • Listen,Listen is also off the album /cd "Sandy".

I like this one more than your "Who Knows..." rendition Lisa.

Your lovely voice is put to better use on this song.

  • Thanks, I love this song, and really enjoy singing it! :)

I recently recorded another version of "Who Knows.." (with a better mic). If you havent seen it already, thought you might like to check it out! :)

  • Where have you been Lisa? I'm still hanging out for you to a version of Bushes & Briars. Any chance?

  • Hey! I cant find a tab of the song anywhere, and as of yet havent had a chance to try to work it out myself...I dunno if I will be able to work it out at all very well, but will hopeful have a chance to soon! :-)

  • Wow beautiful song!!

    not heard it in ages!

If you get a chance, check out my version of "meet on the ledge" by Fairport Convention:)

  • Gee, I had the goose bumps the whole way thru. You sound pretty much like Sandy Denny. Even the British accent! Btw, would you care to sing some "Peter, Paul & Mary" songs in the future?

  • Very good voice, eerily reminiscent of Sandy herself. Weiter so. Wie wär's mit "Farewell farewell"?

  • Brian P:

Lovely singing and playing. Your a very talented musician. Please add more songs soon. Thanks.

  • Just gorgeous! Thanks so much for your beautiful versions of some of my favorite artists... Joni, Nick, & Sandy.

  • lovely relaxed singing and picking.

  • Hi Tobias,

I saw them on the Rising For The Moon tour.I miss them terribly but they are together and that's a wonderful thing to know.I'm sure they were as wonderful as people as the music they made.
