I forgot how hard England chased the runs in that last session. Every batsman down to Bob Willis went out swinging. Tony Greig is a bit of a love him or hate him character but you have to give him credit for honouring the occasion by getting his team to attack to the end.
The greatest test match ever played ... as the son of an immigrant to Australia, this is the game that began my long and worthwhile fascination with the game

Read about the centenary test in "Cricket at the Crossroads", based partly on interviews with former players.

Lillee's bowling action was perfection at this time don't know why he modified it towards the end of his career.

Lillee mentions in his autobiography that he had asked for Her Majesty's autograph then.
Notice, the diary and pen in his hand when he was being introduced. That made him something of a laughing-stock among his mates, esp. Greg and Marsh!

I remember it well - what a fantastic match. Another half hour of Greig and Knott and England might even have won ...
Note Rick McCosker with his head swathed in bandages and Dennis Lillee with his autograph book, meeting the Queen.
I'd love a DVD of highlights of this game.
