This song is really great. And yes, it made me get out my guitar and search on the web for the transcription! Not too bad - you only have to drop the two E strings down a step to make them both D. I can live with that, unlike some of those Zeppelin acoustic pieces where you have to be changing 4 or 5 of the strings. :)
@hbloops Wow. Yet another person who makes a fool out of himself by using vulgarities. It's a shame really. Once again, someone shows just how stupid humanity can be. If they gace a medal of service for your level of incompetence, my god you'd earn it.
@dajiaoma77777 dude. he was trolling. witch makes me angry seeing as i want to know of the song i was asking about. And i wounder witch 1 of us is considered the most incompotent......
LOL I'm still learning A Song for Life, and I'm by half the song and barely handling his technique but after watching this, wow. I laughed because I just noticed I still have a long way to go to master his stuff.
Btw this guy is amazing, one of my favorite guitarist.
i beg to differ. playing with your teeth takes an incredible amount of technique. but that's still not as technical as eric johnson, paul gilbert, yngwie malmsteen, and buckethead though, so you have a point, his guitar technique wasn't the greatest, like so many hendrix fans think.
Agree with KlassicStrat - Hendrix used guitar to reach rockers with his guitar and lyrics; lyrics being more importand in 60's and 70's. 90's had grundge for message like Kurt. Music is the pulse of the nation but not our purpose. We must fix our legal system before we fix our health care system (comment from the inside). Too many lawyers in office.
I've heard the song. First on Guitar Hero 3, then a longer live version of him playing it when he was in New York and the song is really incredible. Out of curiosity though, when you say "along with thousands of other now famous guitarists", can you give me any recommendations as to which of those I might not have heard and could possibly like?
Man, we all play and think our shit is the next breakthrough....besides, EJ, SRV, EVH, I have yet to hear that much talent. If there is that many naturals, they;re not signed. Give me an example.
lol, I'm sorry. I've never seen this guy before but he looks like a total redneck with that wannabe classy mullet he's rockin'. But that's beside the point, he seems like a good guy and he played that guitar beautifully. Excellent song, I loved it. 5 stars! :)
Hahaha! No, I don't know who Segovia is. What does that say about him? Not a lot, so don't come at me saying he's some unheard of Jimi Hendrix. Also, you may have a different opinion on who the greatest guitarists are. So, I really don't wanna hear what you have to say because it will have no effect on me. Don't waste your time buddy
GODDAMNIT YOU PUNK KIDS LEAVE US ALONE ABOUT OUR MULLETS! Wait until your kids see the nerdy white guys who tried to look, dress and talk like black people.
I find it very extraordinary to play harmonics like any other tone in the song the way EJ does. And he hits them really clear which is extremely hard since you need to hit the precise spot.
damn amazing piece. i had this a year ago, but i stopped practicing it and i lost it. darn! now im trying to re-learn it for my school's band audition. haha wonderful song and artist!
hah well the day after i wrote that comment, i could play it to speed. this song is just so fun to play! i would just start to play it over and over and over and before i knew it hours would have past. me personally, i like the sound of it slower. it gives it more of a bluesy feel.
@kilburndude1989 You're just about completely right, of all the videos I've seen of this guy. He has only once, played one wrong note. I think it was a cliffs of dover video but I could be mistaken. Only one wrong note, just one. That's bloody unbelievable.
Shit, I've been playing this song for 10 years and I don't think I will ever play it that clean. I've never seen or heard it other than the studio recording. Thanks to whoever uploaded it. Dude has super long fingers, mine are stubby. I notice he uses his pinky alot more than I do. Damn that was a great performace
(un)fortunately my cousin (back then 14 years old...) tried to teach it to me. still can't do it. she was amazed with the original too, which íve send her a month ago.
eric johnson is the srv of the millenium, the dennis bergkamp of the guitar league...and a pupil from joe satriani,so i've been told.
I guess you are right. It still sounds really awesome slow but it sounds so awesome fast. And I like how you don't need lyrics or anything. You know some songs that don't have words and they are sort of boring. This one isn't at all!! And those little touches like the harmonics and stuff.
yeah ill have to agree with noisufusion, tommy emmanual plays some sick acoustic rags you should check out the song guitar boogie and train to duseldorf, and also steve howe is a really sick acoustic guitaist you should check out the clap, ram, and his classical gas
The thing about Eric's hands is his dexterity, his fingering, his accuracy, the confidence he displays with every move. His hands are just ready for anything and they know where to go!
