For the love god people, quit going to YouTube, finding sports videos and then ending with a slam on Lebron. We all know Lebron did 0% wrong. Find a new topic
I remember it this way; hit first one up ,hit first one up; hit first one up;hit first one up (help the player or players that hit me get up) over, and over again and still want th ball.Ive never seen anyone before or now do this except Walter Payton . Then asked what he would do differant if he could do it all over again he says "i'd like to play defense so i could make tackles"; folks there has never been anyone like Walter Payton period.
After watching some of Walter Payton's moves on the field.I would nick name him The "Rule Book". You seem to be a great admirer of the man.Is this nick name suitable?
I've got to say I've never been much of a football fan, but when Walter Payton played I was one of his biggest fans! I've got to say it a very sad day when he announced he was sick! Great man!! I miss him a lot!!!
he ran for almost 17,000 yds in his career, and almost 7,000 of them were on .500 or under Bears teams....he took all that punishment every week with no hope of making the playoffs for many seasons. he never bitched, complained, or wanted a trade - he played every game at 110% even if it was a lost cause because he was loyal to his team and he never quit - thats why he's the BEST..take that Lebron James
I was born and bred a Packers fan. I watched this guy eat my beloved Packers alive on many occasions. He was so good, I would find myself actually rooting for him! I never told my father that, lol. But after Walter died I finally told my dad I secretly rooted for Walter (even when he was playing GB) know what my dad said? "Son, so did I." That's all you need to know about this man, this role model, this hero... God Bless, from a Packers/Sweetness fan!
im a big bears fan i wish i was alive to see the best running back of all time in person im 16 and would give anything to go to that 85 super bowl by the way they should have payton that touchdown in the super bowl instead of the frige because payton was the one to lead them to that game
I was glad that it was Emmitt that broke his record, but if I were going to show some high school fball player how to be NFL running back, I would give them a highlight reel if Walter and tell them, ' this is how you do it.'
Walter Payton is a great human being. My father was a big bear fan. My father and I would watch the Bears together all the time. My father passed on in 1995 when I was 18. When Walter Payton died my eyes welled up in tears. I thought of all the good memories Walter brought to my father and I . Walter was a great player, but more importantly he was a great person, a great role model and a great human being. Walter had a respect for the game that today's players cannot match.
I was a WP fan from the get-go. I was a sophomore in college when I heard he had died. I remember walking home in tears for the next 20-30 minutes. RIP, Walter. You were an incredible football player and an even better man.
he wasnt just called Sweetness because his plays and athletic ability were so sweet...but he was amazingly humble and sweet off the field. he is the best player of all-time

Columbia's long time Municipal Court Judge Forest Dantin, 56, has died. Dantin died Saturday morning of a brain aneurism at Forrest General Hospital.
Dantin served as Municipal Court Judge for 20 years.
Visitation will be held Monday at Hathorne Funeral Home from 5:008:00 p.m. His funeral is set for Tuesday at First Methodist Church in Columbia at 11:00 a.m.
when someone has the name SWEETNESS how can you have a discussion bout the best rb ever... With the heart and emotion that man had, i wish they're were more players like that now
i agree...facts are facts and heart is heart...walter payton not only was a great person but obviously a great great GREAT football player..he threw the ball, did punt returns, caught the ball, ran the ball..he was a total package and yes the players NOW are HUGE and more athletic in comparison..but what walter did back in the day was absolutely astonishing,
My friend who bets against the bears EVERY GAME and hates the bears and is a HUGE packer fan...agrees that the best back ever was payton
You can throw all the facts and figures you like at me, the bottom line is that Payton was the greatest and most complete football player of all time. Period...there will never be another like him.
I'm not prepared to say "who's better" or whatever, cuz they were all different eras and different styles. Jim Brown, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Gayle Sayers, etc. etc. the list could go on, because there WERE that many great running backs. Probably a lot of people will disagree with Sayers, but he was amazing as well. Don't focus on "who was best" because we'll never know that. Same way we'll never know about Hakeem Olajowan, or Shaq vs. Wilt, or something like that. Just be happy they
Im not sure what kind of sick perversion people are cursed with that makes them spend their free time comparing other peoples legacy's, it is beyond me. If you think you know all there is to know about the three, and your conclusion is Payton was the best, then I would like to see some credentials supporting you as a person of integrity who has honestly compared the three with all available information, and then you need some kind of reputation if you expect anybody to fucking care.
sanders had better moves and could change directions quicker but walter was stronger and more powerful and sanders would always get stopped at the goal line where walter could run it in
they are both arguably the greatest two running backs and if barry played longer he'd get more recognition, but I think it can go either way but you can't throw someone under the bus and say it's a lie if they believe barry sanders is the GOAT, I think people, I'm not accusing anyone here, but some people feel obligated that once someone dies that they either have to say they're the greatest, but have to get defensive if someone disagrees, I know I'll get my butt handed to me, but I believe that
I think Barry Sanders is the best Running back all time.. He didnt even have a solid team like walter..he could of easily smashed the record but he was on a losing team and didnt desire to beat the record he wanted 2 win a ring and he couldnt so he retired..i think the top 3 rbs are sweetness, barry, and LT if his career still keeps goin the way it is... Walter was probably a better blocker and etc..but not a better runner..Earl campbell should also be thrown in this mix i believe
I agree, "LT II" will be of the top 3 but of guys who arent playing anymore I think it goes Barry, Walter, and Earl Campbell, I believe Gale Sayers would've been the best of all time at his rate but injuries to both of his knees ended his career much too short
I totally agree with your first comment, especially when a legend dies he HAS to be the greatest, I rather find it controversial. And I think top 3 is too small to list the GOAT for RBs. I don't know how but you forgot Jim Brown, along with many others. I also think Terrell Davis had a chance to be one of the best if it wasn't for the injury just like Sayers and Bo Jackson. But if I had to choose one to be the greatest it's Barry Sanders.
oh I definitely think Jim Brown is one fo the greatest ever, he was also one of the greatest pure athletes, he played lacrosse aat syracuse and they had to change 2 big rules because of him, he was fast and could physically dominate you
I'm sorry.. but you're completely wrong. Walter came into a bears team that was just awful. They won i think 3 games when he was drafted. They did have 3 good seasons tho. Barry always had an O line where as walter didn't
I hate jackasses like you. This clip deals with the struggles that one of the greatest running backs of all time, in my opinion he was the greatest, and how his health failed him and you gotta come on here with your smart ass bullshit and tell everyone that you think Sanders was the greatest. NEWSFLASH you 2 year old DBZ freak, no one gives a shit. This movie goes beyond the game, hence the title: BEYOND THE GLORY. Go somewhere else to argue your bullshit opinions, not here.
Why do you smartasses always have to make it about who's better? He was a great running back, if you think Sanders was better, that's great but shut up and keep it to yourself. Especially in terms of a film like this where it's not dealing with his football status, but his health and family.
@Saiyanpride Hey knucklehead, the first 8 years of Walter Payton's career, he had one of the worst OL's in the NFL, I watched those teams, and I remember, he didn't get a good OL until around 1982, when guys like Van Horne, and Hilgenberg, and Covert came to the team, Barry Sanders always had a good OL, Payton earned those yards on his own, that OL Walter had his first 8 years, was much like the one the Chicago Bears have NOW, so don't spew out stuff if you don't know what you're talking about..
@bornready92 It is against Walter Payton when you have to compare him to other players when they are talking about his life and death. Take your comparisons elsewhere.
Walter Payton THREW 12 touchdown passes ... not caught, THREW. He was the best backfield blocker of his era, and excellent receiver not to mention he could run like hell. Show me Barry's ring ... show me how he inspired his team to greatness (or even "not bad"), or inspired ME to strive to never quit and stand for principle. Walter was a great human being above football player, above running back. No comparison.
