  • Nice to see this on here.......don't kid yourself sir, there are a ton of good ol machines out there, we got all kinds of older stuff on our farm. This new stuff and the clowns that run them don't impress me much. Actually it's kind of a joke. Thanks for posting this, and good luck and be safe with your harvest!

  • @5harvester amen!

  • hey nice video. We use to have an 1980 white combine. It was a really good combine untill the guys who bought it off us forgot to put the oil cap back on and the engine blew up

  • hey man i love this vid, wat do yu prefer harvesting corn or beans?

  • Hey I like combining corn even though it takes longer to cover the ground, with beans you're always looking out for wads of green weeds that hang on the cutterbar then go all in at once, making the poor old combine choke and plug.I've stalled that engine dead and smoked some very expensive drive belts in weedy beans, never in corn. You have to turn the cylinder shaft backwards with a crow bar and yank out the dusty, compressed weeds one stem at a time from under the threshing cylinder.

  • ya i know how that is. my cousin is a farmer and he has an 80s gleaner corn plus, idk wat model, but his farm is all old equipment i seen weeds rap around the reel bar so tyte it locks it. hes plugged in corn b4

  • @hunterfisher09 I've never heard of anybody plugging in corn. Wonder how he manages that? I run older machines too. Have an L2 right now that is an awesume old combine with auto reel/corn head variable speed, 3 position auto header height,Ttattle Tale IV monitor system, grain loss monitor, bin full alarm, etc. These old machines can be had with lots of goodies like the new stuff.

  • Nice vidoe! How close is this to the White 8800 Harvest Boss?Toytractortimes has a post aboput this model in the real talk posting board.Never knew that red White 7800 existed.A green Oliver 7800 and a red White 8800 Harvest Boss but never knew aabout a red White 7800 at all.

  • Hi the 7800 and 8800 were basically identical except the 78 had the gas powered dodge V8 engine and the 88 had a 6 cylinder diesel. The engine that is running in the machine now was salvaged from a 1970's Plymouth out in a wrecking yard.Instead of a transmission it bolts up to a special bellhousing containing two triple-V pulleys and 2 belts, and the governor bolts in between the distributor and block. Then there is a huge 6 blade cooling fan,and no mufflers which is the best part!
