  • yeahhh, fuck this shit.

  • You're awesome :) Save my life. Have a great day!

  • Your the best buddy this helps so much. Thanks!

  • Aaaaah I love these videos, I always just bearly miss the gist of how to do these, but your videos are really clear and I can rewind and stop wherever that part is I got lost. Awesome. Thank you.

  • VERY VERY HELPFUL, thank you

  • Dude here's a tip stop using x and just use a number cuz more variables just confuses ppl

  • thank you so much for this!! I almost gave up on my homework and then I watched it and ended up finishing it all!! so easy to understand now!

  • thank you SOOO MUCH! I have a math final tomorrow and I'm SO LOST in my class but this video helped me so much! I wish you were my math teacher!

  • You helped me understand this more in 9 minutes than my teacher did in 90 minutes . . .

  • our professors make our lives bloody complicated for us sometimes but Patrick simplifies it. Thanks a great deal for your help . they are so clear that every brain can grasp and grab it...u truly are a blessing to me and many others.....

  • özledim patrickin sesini özledim

  • Oh my gosh. My calculus teacher doesn't know ANYTHING about teaching compared to you! I learned more in the 1 hour of watching your videos than I did the ENTIRE semester! You just saved my ass on my finals! Thank you sir!

  • you are such a life saver!!!! thank you so much. it all makes so much more sense now! :)

  • Thank you so much for this video. You make it so very easy to understand. I'm way too good at over complicating things and this shows me how simple it really is!

  • where is part 2 babe :( ?

  • THANK YOU, now i might not fail that test tomorrow ...

  • Thank you so much, this was very easy to understand and helped me loads!

  • @claudiomcawsome wonderful : )

  • better than my prof will ever be, thanks a million!

  • Praise the Almighty: PatrickJMT

  • We love you

  • You Rock. Seriously!

  • i would hug you if i could man :')

  • Thank you so much! You're really saving my ass here.

  • final exam in an hour. thnksthnksthnks

  • You said dt but wrote dx. Thanks for your help

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  • i wish i knew of this video before my quiz yesterday! ha, oh well.

  • very helpful! ty for posting

  • you are a life saver!!!!!!

10x more helpful than my professor!

  • Thanks.... Your video does make sense to me about FTC...

  • His videos are the only reason I am passing Calculus. Way better than my Calc. prof. :)

  • Thank you Mr. JMT, you are the only reason I passed this crappy class that is barely relevant to my major.

  • you are so much more helpful than my professor

  • @jacob12sturdi at least you don't have a moroccan cummunity college professor with heavy, and i mean heavy accent.... -.-

  • thank youu!

  • thank you so much, my university teacher is horrible, she just regurgitates text notes then does text questions as examples which are nothing like the exam questions!

  • Thanks a lot for help

  • you may be done with tutoring, but you really are making an impact for those across the planet by posting these online. thanks and keep up the good work.

  • can we do integration?

  • @SuperSbeastify i can

  • @SuperSbeastify the fundamental theorem of calculus is by far one of the most significant inventions of the human mind. It basically says that if we differentiate the integral, we retrieve the integrand, f(x). Likewise, if we integrate the derivative, we ALSO retrieve the function f(x). The second parts states that we can find the EXACT area under the curve f(x) by evaluating the endpoints a and b of the antiderivative of f(x) (usually denoted F(x)) and then subtracting F(b)-F(a).

  • thank you so much

  • you should be given a nobel prize... :) not kidding

  • Thank you so much, I understand this now

  • you make more sense than my book or my professor

  • Who can dislike any of your videos?

  • can someone please help me :s? I need to rearrange these mathematical symbols to give one form of the fundamental theorem of calculus. dt, d/dx, =, f(t), f(x) and the integral from 0 to x.

  • omg thank yo so much my teacher explained this for 40 minutes and i stared at the book for an hour and i didnt get it and you explained it in under 2 minutes and it was so simple! thank you so much :)

  • do you tutor for ap calc ab students? I'd assume online tutoring of some sort

  • @Shallowz987 i do not do online tutoring. i used to tutor in person but i am pretty much done with that too

  • @angelgrrl04 yeah i'm confused also. @patrickjmt why does C = 0?

  • The only way these videos could be any better is if you were right handed lol

  • Why does C equal zero?

  • @Angelgrrl04 what c are you talking about

  • @patrickJMT Sorry, forgot to add the time. At 6:38, would the c be 0 or would it be tanx after you switch the inverses?

  • @Angelgrrl04 It doesn't matter what you choose c to be. 0 is just an easy number to deal with.

  • You, sir, were the reason I got a 4 on the AP Calculus exam in high school. And now that I am in college, you just got me an A on my final exam. Thank you.

  • You have the handwriting of a god

  • You sir are the Bob Ross of Calculus

  • I dropped Calc 1 cause my prof was so bad, then I learned that I need to know Integrals for Physics. I love you man, the grand I wasted on MTH 140 should have gone to you

  • This video is amazing. Thank you so much!

  • Thank you so much. Quiz in 6 hours. Textbook was BS.

    This saved my life.

You should go make a textbook, and force colleges to use it.

Textbook for the 1800s just don't cut it anymore.

    Thanks once again.

  • hot damn son, I just ignore my professor now that youtube can teach me calculus! thank you patrick!

  • Dude, thank you so much. You took the complex bullshit my textbooks were trying to make this out to be and simplified it into something manageable.

  • You are literally saving my mathematical college experience. Thank you so so much!

  • 7 pages of my calc book reading done in less then 10 minutes...sir I would like to thank you so much. I now understand the concept more then when I was reading the material.

  • why cant uni profs make it this easy???? it seems like they demonstrate you the most complicated way possible just to show off how much they know.

  • @GodzApostle Yes they do.I've noticed that math and science profs have huge egos and enjoy showing off more than teaching. Prrrrrreeeetttyyy annoying.

  • Thank You so much!

  • Epic. I finally understand!

  • @darassper come back any time that you do not understand ; )

  • hey patrick i cant find a video of your for the second fundamental theorem

  • @rr5001 it is posted as a video response

  • hey patrick i cant find a video of your for the second theorem

  • so gooood!

  • If I pass my test tomorrow, it will be all because of you. You are amazing.

  • I love you so much.

  • It's been almost 2 years since i finished Calculus and I wouldnt have done it without your great videos. Thank you! You are just like Salman Kahn, offering a world class education for free. Kudos to you and I hope your channel gets larger exponentially..hey look at that, a math pun!!

  • @mrhughjeffner killed it...

  • I sometimes feel not unlike a RETARD (think the Hangover) after watching your videos, in any case: You be awesome !

  • patrickJMT, 감사합니다, 사랑해요! Keep on 화이딩!

  • Thank you! You're a fantastic math teacher! :)

  • another video that helped me. thank you.

Patrick, the best math teacher ever!

  • Thanks a lot! Very clear explanations!

  • your amazing!

  • thanx man you the best please keep on uploading more videos...

  • I'm lost sorry... How did you get the derivative of tanx to sec^2x and x^2 to 2x... :( Sorry!

  • @tym2scrim it's just one of those principles you should remember. Also remember the derivatives of all the other trig functions... I hate them as well..

  • could you put up a video showing the proof for the fundamental theorem?

  • add to favourites? check

close my books and finally sleep at 2 am? check

compliment you? You are an excellent teacher. Thank you. Check

  • Comment removed

  • im not learning this for school. im learning this for fun

  • @best496

Cool story bro. Can you e-mail what else you did today?

  • Patrick... You are by far the best teacher I've had.

  • Calculus is AWESOME! I watched this video for a nice review :D

  • where can i find part two?

  • @cutecloveshobs It's a video response to this video.

  • You are an angel sent from heaven above. I have spent the entire night trying to learn this!!!

  • You are a god.

  • OMG thank you! i have that exact same last problem u did on my review sheet and now i know how to do it!

i really wish you u were my professor! i have the final exam tomorrow and im watching your videos haha.

  • I wish my calc teacher taught like you do, thanks a lot Patrick

  • Thank you so freaking much! I had trouble understanding this, but the vid is awesome! <3

  • I cant believe you guys take the trouble to upload these, but they help so much! Thanks

  • @hubl56 thats part of the fundamental theorom theres two parts this is the first one

  • this is less than useless, unless you already know calculus, which makes it redundant.

  • Better than MIT profs

  • thanks a lot shame that people disliked this vid. They probably didnt have enough background knowledge to fully understand this.

  • life saver!

  • I don't even go to class anymore, I just watch your videos.

  • OMG! You are so much better than my T.A. Thank you so much. Jesus, maybe i'll actually 4.0 an exam now.

  • thanks alot

  • Thank you!

  • Seriously, I cannot thank you enough!

  • amazing what takes a week for a our retard of a lecturer to confuse us with takes only 9:26 for JMT to make crystal clear,

    smartLad

  • i love me some Patrick !

  • @0nDeck that makes two of us

  • This says part 1, do you have a part 2? I cant find it :/

  • @Gtfokitty

That's the name of the theorem. it has nothing to do with video parts.

  • ill pay u ten bucks per unit of calculus =D

  • Thank the lord for you! I have a calculus final tomorrow and I'm freaking out. You are simply the best....oh my god.

  • @riliana412 hope your test went well.

  • Thank you s omuch for sharing!! It is been a great help with my study!

  • what is that squggly line?

  • @peachrocker1 I think you're referring to what is called an "integral symbol". There are a lot of videos on Youtube about integration. You need to understand derivatives and integrals before looking at the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. Hope that helps.

  • bahahaha, Im just finishing trig. This makes me want to cry

  • @RHCPgroupie42 im just starting trig, been crying since day 1 haha

  • @TacticalNova @RHCPgroupie42

    You guys are so underrated...

I just finished 8th grade and I'm doing college level calculus in my spare time

which i have much too much of...... LOLZ :)

  • @TacticalNova dude it depends on what grade ur in and how good are you in math

  • Patrick:

This video has just helped me figure out a concept that was absolutely blowing my mind. Every mark counts for me as I struggle to make the Calculus cutoff mark for admission into my dream architectural school. I will now get an extra 0.8% on my final grade because of your amazing video... an amount that could turn out to be the difference for me. It is not possible for me to thank you enough.

  • Little tip, DON'T REMEMBER THE TRANSCRIBED AUDIO!

Example: Starting at 0:24 turn transcribe audio on. "if you've got a continuous function on the closed-in avoided being unifled avenue function g attacks to be"

  • did you make a video for FTC2?

  • wow it was that easy? its all clear to me now thanks!

  • thank you so much! I am taking Calculus this semester for the 2nd time and this just makes things soo much easier!

I appreciate you doing this, you make it easy to understand. I have my calculus final tomorrow and now I know I will pass! You just made this college student the happiest girl in the world! :)

  • Your videos are such a valuable resource. The instructions are simple and easy to follow and make sense. I know I couldn't have passed pre calc or calc without your help. It's very generous of you to share your time and knowledge without charging exorbitant fees. I'm always spreading the word about your videos. Thanks a lot.

  • thank u!!

  • Thank you, brother! I was sick that class and this cleared some things up for :)

    oh, Beavenation, goodluck!

  • Yea wheres part 2, my test is tomorrow!

  • You make me want to keep doing calculus! THANKS.

  • DA BESSTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So when you multiplied the function inside the integral by ds, ds was the derivative of the sqrt(x) and not the derivative of the function?

  • hey patrick..thank you for the video mate!

    but is there part 2??

  • omgggg thank you soo much this finally makes sense to me =)

  • Do you have any epsilon/delta videos? I cannot find any, thanks!

  • i can't find part 2.

  • You have a voice that's really similar to a good friend of mine... it's distracting as hell.

    Good video, nonetheless.

  • Thanks Patrick, your videos helps my calculus course a lot. I did not understand my lecture and the textbook. Learning from YouTube is much much easier :D

    Thnx mate !

    Regards from Sydney, Australia.

  • i think our teachers should make video rather coming to class. this helps a lot! thank you

  • helping me a lot def

  • I love your videos! I have been watching them all year long to help me out with AP Calc AB... the AP Exam is tomorrow and your videos have really helped me do some last minute reviewing! Thanx for all the help!

  • on one of the examples he put dx instead of dt, just saying.

  • on one of th examples he put dx instead of dt, just saying.

  • you really don't know how much i love you

    like you honestly don't

i find myself being able to follow along and work 'ahead' of you so to speak (as in before you multiply the derivative, i've already got to that step in my head) - that's when i know i really understand the material. thank you for this video!

thank you for all your videos! ♥

  • i hate you, you dirty son of a bitch... my girlfriend told me right to my face that she was gonna suck your dick if she ever see you... shove that math up your asshole

  • i can't find part 2! :(

  • can I like shrink you and cary you to my calculus final e_e and use you as my calculator lolz

  • Dont get me wrong. My Calculus teacher is a fantastic teacher. But I love how you get straight to the point really quickly instead of trying to take time to explain things. I often zone out because my teacher takes to long to do the lesson. You have definitely improved my exam scores. TY!

  • Hm. Okay, so I'm 15 and this isn't in my curriculum, I just wanted to learn about calculus…and I think I somewhat understand it. But considering I didn't know what calculus even was ten minutes ago, I would say that's an accomplishment. ;) Thanks! I'm sure this will be useful next year when it is in the curriculum if I don't get it right away.

  • Your videos are AWESOMELY AWESOME!!

  • You forgot your little bracket at the end!! 2:50 haha

  • Thank you so much

  • Thank you doc, you make it seem much easier than its horrible reputation.. I thought my head would come down and out my ass by the time I finished watching this.

  • Plz organize these awesome vids on the logical order that they should be watched. Both on utube and ur site. thanks. ppl thump up so that we get his attention if u agree.

  • im taking ap calc next year. i am SO fucked hahah

  • @nickoc72

    nope , your not $%#ed

Patrick will rescue you. Patrick's our savior.

(maybe review some stuff at the beginning before your semster)

  • OMG THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I have been like crying for the longest time ever over this... Text books are not clear at all =[

  • @iitzxniicole learning to read a math text book is hard - it was an acquired skill for me.

  • @patrickJMT Well-said. Deciphering the meaning behind a math text book is definitely a skill that must be honed if you expect to excel in math. I think many people just expect it to be easy and so they read through once and don't understand, and just expect that with continued effort they still won't understand, so they don't bother.

  • @iitzxniicole

Those books are all in terminological terms which makes them a pain, even simple things like segmentation & integrals are confusing.. It's always good to have someone simplify things by seeing them actually do it. Reading can make things a lot harder sometimes.

  • Hey man... thanks a lot... you just save my life... thanks God Blaze you...

  • where is part 2?!?!

  • Great vid bro, struggled on this for a while till i came across ur vid, which cleared shit up

  • wats 2+2? i am soo stumpt!

  • i have never done calculus in my life nor advanced maths , but i need it for my economics course. is there any other math knowledge i should be aware about , cause i dont understand some of the terms such as f(x) , g(x) . Intergrals etcs.

  • @nitroxize

You're going to need a solid understanding of algebra first to take calculus. Also you might want to start in an intro to Calculus course first. I'm taking that right now and it's not too bad. There you will review functions f(x) and g(x) etc and you will learn about integrals, derivatives etc. If your degree requires only that you take a intro to calc course (like mine), I would just recommend taking intro and not going any further (unless you find that you enjoy calc)

  • I believe that u r much better than my instructor . thanx

  • OH MY GOSH THIS MAKES SO MUCH SENSE :D

It more than just makes sense, it's a piece of cake!!!!

    What was myProxy-Connection: keep-aliv

  • All I can say is that you are amazing. Since the beginning of my AP Calculus BC class, I had to look for your videos to help me understand the lessons. I may not get A's all the time, but I sure made that F or D at least go up to a B. Thank you so much for your kindness and putting your time and effort to upload these videos. I owe you my life because this course was mainly the reason why my deferral became an acceptance. :')
