thank you so much, my university teacher is horrible, she just regurgitates text notes then does text questions as examples which are nothing like the exam questions!
you may be done with tutoring, but you really are making an impact for those across the planet by posting these online. thanks and keep up the good work.
@SuperSbeastify the fundamental theorem of calculus is by far one of the most significant inventions of the human mind. It basically says that if we differentiate the integral, we retrieve the integrand, f(x). Likewise, if we integrate the derivative, we ALSO retrieve the function f(x). The second parts states that we can find the EXACT area under the curve f(x) by evaluating the endpoints a and b of the antiderivative of f(x) (usually denoted F(x)) and then subtracting F(b)-F(a).
can someone please help me :s? I need to rearrange these mathematical symbols to give one form of the fundamental theorem of calculus. dt, d/dx, =, f(t), f(x) and the integral from 0 to x.
omg thank yo so much my teacher explained this for 40 minutes and i stared at the book for an hour and i didnt get it and you explained it in under 2 minutes and it was so simple! thank you so much :)
You, sir, were the reason I got a 4 on the AP Calculus exam in high school. And now that I am in college, you just got me an A on my final exam. Thank you.

@GodzApostle Yes they do.I've noticed that math and science profs have huge egos and enjoy showing off more than teaching. Prrrrrreeeetttyyy annoying.

@tym2scrim it's just one of those principles you should remember. Also remember the derivatives of all the other trig functions... I hate them as well..
@peachrocker1 I think you're referring to what is called an "integral symbol". There are a lot of videos on Youtube about integration. You need to understand derivatives and integrals before looking at the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. Hope that helps.
This video has just helped me figure out a concept that was absolutely blowing my mind. Every mark counts for me as I struggle to make the Calculus cutoff mark for admission into my dream architectural school. I will now get an extra 0.8% on my final grade because of your amazing video... an amount that could turn out to be the difference for me. It is not possible for me to thank you enough.

@patrickJMT Well-said. Deciphering the meaning behind a math text book is definitely a skill that must be honed if you expect to excel in math. I think many people just expect it to be easy and so they read through once and don't understand, and just expect that with continued effort they still won't understand, so they don't bother.
Those books are all in terminological terms which makes them a pain, even simple things like segmentation & integrals are confusing.. It's always good to have someone simplify things by seeing them actually do it. Reading can make things a lot harder sometimes.
i have never done calculus in my life nor advanced maths , but i need it for my economics course. is there any other math knowledge i should be aware about , cause i dont understand some of the terms such as f(x) , g(x) . Intergrals etcs.
You're going to need a solid understanding of algebra first to take calculus. Also you might want to start in an intro to Calculus course first. I'm taking that right now and it's not too bad. There you will review functions f(x) and g(x) etc and you will learn about integrals, derivatives etc. If your degree requires only that you take a intro to calc course (like mine), I would just recommend taking intro and not going any further (unless you find that you enjoy calc)
All I can say is that you are amazing. Since the beginning of my AP Calculus BC class, I had to look for your videos to help me understand the lessons. I may not get A's all the time, but I sure made that F or D at least go up to a B. Thank you so much for your kindness and putting your time and effort to upload these videos. I owe you my life because this course was mainly the reason why my deferral became an acceptance. :')
yeahhh, fuck this shit.
