  • any engine mods? or is that just the bbk x pipe and flowmaster catback?

  • is it me or do pipes and exhaust just dont go well together??? I wanted to put pipes but i dont see any difference besides a higher pitch sound, which I dont want.

  • I only hear a slight difference and thats a higher pitch sound. I was thinking about adding piped to my flowmaster but now i dont think so.

  • oh the loudness is good but the drone not so much sounds good tho in this video

  • awwww lol so i read u went from delta flow 40s to the original 40s? was there a difference in sound? id rather have less of a metallic sound in mine.

  • @09portillo I dont really think it was much of a difference in sound. Just louder and more drone.

  • nice exhaust! any drive off exhaust vids anytime soon? I like the sound of yours thinkin about getting that setup for mine. nice vid

  • @09portillo Sorry there wont be any drive off videos. I sold it.

  • Yea it was the 40's. They were delta flow. Then i swithched to pypes violators. Then back to the original series 40's.

  • is 40s your flowmasters?

  • Comment removed

  • is 40s your flowmasters?

  • i like the sound men, i have a 96 mustang gt so is the same sound!!

  • good sound i'm curious as to how the same set up would sound without cats...

  • aside from all the comments lately, very nice sound, 5 stars

  • Thanks.. I loved the sound.

  • 67shelby, what car did you do that too. It sure as hell couldnt have been a 96-98 mustang with non pi heads. It aint gonna happen.

  • no it was to my 94 cobra with the 302. Hell headers alone will give you 20 horses right there. If you get the right ones that is and dish out the money for them.

  • I know what your saying. I meant that unless you do longtubes with a npi motor its not gonna do squat. With just the mods i did i bet id be lucky to see 15 horse. 96-98 mustangs need a cylinder head change in order to get power.

  • @98mustanggt46

'96-98 mustangs need a cylinder head change in order to get power."

You should check out Muscle Mustang and Fast Fords 1996 project Mustang(project redheaded step child), they couldn't get 300whp without a head swap or FI / nitrous.

  • @98mustanggt46 actually they need the proper cam in order to see power.......nick mckinney of modular head shop cammed an NPI motor and was able to get 270 rwhp....google his name and mild NPI combo dyno run

  • and your forgetting all the other shit you have to buy to make the pro charger work. You can't throw on a supercharger and leave the internals stock they wont last that long.

  • And that's where you're wrong. You CAN "throw" a supercharger on any motor and make it last if you know what the hell you're doing. These motors are plenty capable of making 400-450 on the stock internals. Now that is pushing the limits of the weak bottom end, but it's been done plenty of times. A P1SC, or a respectable Vortech v1 S-trim, will easily push you past the 300whp mark on 8psi and do it for a long period of time. Granted, you have a good tune.

  • These were the delta flow 40's. Thats whats in the catback.

  • sounds great bro! are they original 40s or super 40s?

  • ok and i probably will lol thanks

  • Hey no problem. Let me know if you got any other questions.

  • but it sounds great. thanks for the response

  • Honestly man you do not gain that much power from exhaust.

  • lol only if you knew. If you do the full exhuast setup and I mean full with headers, x or h pipe, cats, and mufflers you can gain up to 30 to 50 with the right setup. Sure it will cost you round 2 grand but its worth it and you can notice the power and torque increase quite a bit. The exuast on my 94 Cobra was 2300 and it was worth it. My 98 cobra just has 40 series mufflers once i get it paid off the full exhuast comes.

  • Right, But he was asking about the mufflers. Obviously if you do long tubes and off- road pipes your gonna get alot more. The stock manifolds are very restrictive.

  • 2,300 for a full exhaust that gets you 30-50 horsepower.........OR...... 2K all together for a ProCharger P1SC (if you piece it together like I am), and get over 100hp on 8psi, 93 octane, and a conservative tune... I'm glad I went with the centri.

  • hell the motors in these cars arnt worth a fuck I've had 2 cobras now and they both cant handle high rpms for shit. I just bought a 98 Cobra put 3,000 miles on it and it is already knocken and she only has 95,000 miles on it. I love mustangs but when it comes to durability they engines arnt worth a fuck after 60,000 miles on them unless you buy a new one

  • right well the dyno papers prove otherwise i made a extra 42 horses when i did my whole exhuast. It opens everything up

  • do you know what hp gain you got from the 40s delta?

  • sounds great even with the cats on!

  • Ive got a 90 5.0 with bbk headers, flowmaster 40 series and the x pipe and it sounds deep and throaty. I love it but it does not sound as good as my friends new charger super bee with the flow master 40 series..

  • I finally got mine installed it sounds soo wicked plus i went with the headers it makes it alot deeper tone but ill post a vid when i get my camera fixed. lol

  • just run n x-pipe with flowmasters no cats

  • Sound awesome. The thing is the BBK and Bassani X pipes are more of a cross between the X and H. A true X is like the VRS or Magnalfow. I think the BBK and Bassani sounds the best.

  • Yea they drone. But you can just speed up a little to get out of the drone zone.

  • sounds nice, is there much drone at hwy cruising speeds?

  • i loved it. Im actually going back to flowmasters. I bought a set of original 40 series. I will post vids of them when i put them on.

  • Im going to do the same setup on my 96gt. Did you like the sound of the delta flows?

  • Just x pipe and catback

  • did you throw headers on that too or is it just the x and the catback?

  • sounds a little like a Cobra! Nice setup!

  • Factory Cobras don't sound anything like this. This sound is achieved by aftermarket components only.

  • i know, i'm just saying it sounds similar to some Cobra's on YouTube

  • Check my new videos. I switched to Pypes Violaters..

  • Dlindz08.. The mufflers are the 40 series. Its the american thunder cat back. I think there delta flows.

  • nice set up, which series on the flowmasters do u have bro?

  • Yea its definetly a great set up.

  • I have this exact same set-up on my '98 GT. I love how mean in sounds.

  • but there is definitely a very noticeable difference between the h and x pipe

  • i've had both on my 98 GT and I personally prefer the X pipe just for the fact that it gave me better mid to high rpm acceleration which allows me to keep up with my friends Z4 3.0si :-) but as for sound, i kind of like the more vicious sound of the x pipe but a couple of my friends preferred the deeper h-pipe. its all about personal preference.

  • The h-pipe will make it sound deeper. Like an old muscle car.

  • How does a catted x sound compared to a catted h? I'm thinking bout putting a catted h on my 98 gt, was curious as to how different it would sound to this; btw, great sounding car

  • I know. But it is. I was surprised it was that loud too once i installed it.

  • doesnt sound catted to me. lol
