  • I've got a Russian .380 thats very reliable, never jammed in the 5 years I've had it. And is very accurate with all types ammo. I can bust quarter size targets 10 to 15 feet all day long. Didn't buy it for long distance but close quarter fighting if necessary.

  • Incredibly accurate? What are you used to shooting? a 1800's muzzle loader?

  • @1337Leva There were millions of these Makarovs made. I only have experience with mine, and I've found it very accurate. I'm no hardcore shooter. I don't get technical with groupings, hot barrel/cold barrel, etc.. All I ask of a gun is: does it shoot where I aim it? This one does. Now, it's not perfect. Nasty recoil. Inconvenient mag release. Still, I love it.

  • @Wickedpenguin Well when I served we all hated it cause it SUCKS!

  • I just bought one today. I walked in the gun store hoping to find a P99 but when the clerk said it was made in Russia, I jumped on it immediately. They're very difficult for me to find for some reason, most examples I find are Bulgarian. Can't wait to take this to the range tomorrow! What's a decent and fun load for these? I have plenty of Monarch 94gr rounds but any suggestions as far as range ammo?

  • @bjb249248 They are not accurate. The tt33 are more accurate

  • Some people think the 9x18 and .380 are pretty much the same. A 9x19 Luger will trump a 9x18 in most categories, but 115gr Buffalo Bore or Brown Bear load in 9x18 has the potential to equal the medium loads of the 9x19. A .380 can't do that. The only reason I favor a 9x18 over a 9x19 is cost if both the ammo and guns. A solid CZ 82 is less then $250.

  • I love this gun and want to get one. From the one I shot though it seems to have a surprising amount of recoil for what it is. The one I shot was way more snappy than my xd40 and kicked like a subcompact .45. Maybe the rounds were really hot.

  • @airsoftdude1990 It's the nature of a blowback design.

  • 0:32 for full auto

  • makarov and tokarev.... two of my most favorite pistols, then comes the .357, 9mm, .22 .32, and .25

  • Back in 1995,first handgun/pistol ever purchased was a Russian made Makarov with adjustable rear sight. But in Western caliber .380,instead of original 9mmx18.

  • 380=9x17,Makarov=9X18, 9mm standard=9x19. Makarov does not = 380

  • @soldier3941 In related news, pork does not equal meatloaf

  • @ManTheHarpoons9 Is there something wrong with your head?

  • @soldier3941 commercial ones from russia come in.380 too

  • I got a 1984 Bulgarian recently. Love the total simplicity of it. So easy to do a complete detail strip as well. shoots very tight groups between 5 to 10 yards. Although with any surplus gun you should always do a complete strip, clean and lube before firing. Guy i bought it from only really cleaned the bore.. never tore it completely down. Lots of cosmoline still hanging around.

  • i just got a bulg one for 210$ i heard the actual russian ones cost a lil more

  • At the local gun store they have a makarov for $250. I'm thinking of buying it.

  • my fav weapons PPK, Makarov, 1911, and lastly sig

  • i love that gun. its my fav pistol but my fav gun is the ppsh wich is made by the same country- Russia

  • Just a few words to tell you that an interesting downloadable ebook on this model (technical and historic aspects) is available at HLebooks.com.

  • What's with all the trash and spent cartridges everywhere? Dang slobs! LOL

  • "The 9x18mm round is equivalent to .380 ACP" no it aint! though makarov pm might chamber and fire .380acp as well, dunno.. I wud like to try one. is .380 btw more easily accessed than 9x18?

  • there are some pistols that you can make full automatic what are does pistols

  • @TheAmonamarth17 please dont buy a gun.

  • @SIurm Why not I want the desert eagle in tiger gold :) I will buy that :D

  • Don't put your left trigger finger there.

  • The 9x18 is not equivalent to the .380, the 9x18 is slightly larger by 1 mm so the rounds are not interchangeable.

  • i luv them pistols i wish i could get 1 but i live in england :(

  • I've shot this gun... and i'm 13. But I was 12 when I shot it.

  • How can a 9x18 be the equivalent to a .380 acp? That is saying the 9x18 is the equivalent to an already existing cartridge that is on its own different from it. The .380 ACP is the 9x17, the shorter cartridge of the 9mm family. An example of equivalancy would be more or less the .45 ACP, that compares more(in terms) to the Tokavev's 7.62x25mm in performance and perhaps feel.

  • @MrNosfaratu The 9x18 has very similar ballistics to a .380 acp. It sends bullet of similar weights and grains at roughly similar speeds. Hence why it's an equavlent to a .380 acp. A 9x18 makarov can't use 230 gr bullets like a.45 acp. and the speed between the two rounds is different. Not equivalent at all. The 7.62x25mm is nothing like the .45 acp or 9x18 makarov.

  • @esh325 The x18 does have a longer casing and thus is propelled differently. It still has the same caliber, but the pressure is different. I suppose it is simply similarity that counts, but something that one could consider equivalent would be a 7.62x54 to a .303 British. The gripe is more about the word really. Taking two different things, yet very similar and comparing them respectively. Not two of almost the exact same.

  • @MrNosfaratu 7.62 tokarev is completely different, only nominal power is same as .45. Tokarev is military armor piercing cartridge, unsuitable for self-defense (it penetrates bad gun, car behind him and continues travelling).

  • @OkurkaBinLadin Exactly. Completely different. Yet if you wondered what would be the equivalent of that cartridge? Well you could compare the .45 ACP. Does not mean they are literally the same thing, but are similar in various and small features. Also I have no idea where you got that information regarding the Tokarev round, but it really isn't what you described it to be.

  • what the diffrence betwen 19x18 and 9x19 can i fire 9mm parabelum in a makarov that chamberd in 9x18?

  • @ST4leave They are completely different cartridges. You cannot fire 9mm parrabellum in a 9x18 or you can risk destroying the gun or seriously injuring yourself. The same could happen if you 9x18 in a 9mm parabellum gun.

  • @ST4leave No you cannot. The circumference of the bullet stays the same which is the 9mm, however the length of the cartridge is longer.

  • I saw 1 at a gun show for 200 dollars. Was that a good price? I could of got it but I got a mosin nagant.

  • @MrCargod05 but that is still a very good purchase lol

  • @9x18Makarov o yes it is!!!

  • I have this gun too

  • Are they really accurate? This surprises me.

  • @Solkovsky It is a heck a lot more accurate than any other sub 1k handgun i have owned.

  • The Mac is a 9/18 the 380 is a 9/17

  • very nice!!!! good bye from Italy

  • Is this gun considered to be a relic?

  • @MrFryguy001 hell no. there's tons of these things around. same as mosin nagant. they were mass produced, so they're pretty affordable.

  • @MrFryguy001 If you can find an original soviet or east german makarov they are C&R eligable. Russian maks made after the east fell in 1991 are not eligable, neither are chinese or bulgarians.

  • the cold war wasant a war thow

  • @MissleRod117 uhh...I think he knows that lol.

  • @MissleRod117 it was the end part of waw 2 wrent i just wondering

  • my dads got one shits fucking accurate as hell

  • russian weapons are so sweet

  • i would trade this in for a 1911 any day

  • What's the difference between the Makarov 9x18 and .380?

  • @Humberto4790 the 9x18 is a lil bigger than the .380

  • @Durken316 Do you think it's stronger and more accurate than .380?

  • @Humberto4790 Stronger and im not sure about if it stronger tho

  • @Durken316 isnt .380 bigger? at least the bullet is but i think the overall lenght is too?

  • @Lapinmiez

Negative, on both accounts. 9x18mm Makarov has a longer case length and greater bullet diameter.

  • @Humberto4790

What do you mean? They're just different rounds. 9x18mm has a longer case length and larger bullet diameter, and has the potential to be a "hotter" round.

  • @JasonRedfield So 9x18 has more recoil than it?

  • @Humberto4790

Generally, yes, because it's usually loaded hotter. But the recoil from a Makarov generally isn't that bad regardless(personal experience).

  • mine is mafia type and your type is?

  • How reliable is it?

  • @DeuceMP2 as "reliable" as an AK-47.

  • @DeuceMP2 It might ricochet and shoot you in your fucking head. But 9/10 times you'd be ok.

  • I paid +/- $159 or $169 for it about 8 years ago. It's been a while.

  • @Wickedpenguin thank you! now i know i won't have to work 5 monthes overtime to buy it. also whats the name of the music in the beggining?

  • how expensive was the gun?

  • I pwn with this thing in black ops. haha JK

But I would so love to try this pistol out. Already tried a 1911, USP, and Beretta M9

  • My dad used to have one of these.

  • it`s standard issue sidearm in Russian army and police

  • @juska555 and spetsnaz. its the russian version of "S.W.A.T."

  • @levaslevas well.. spetsnaz mostly use APS (Automatic Pistol of Stechkin).. russian version of S.W.A.T. called O.M.O.N. and yes, they do use Makarovs

  • @levaslevas No it's not the Russian version of SWAT you fucking buffoon. SWAT is SWAT spetznaz is one of the elite units of special forces. What are you smoking queer?

  • @rocaho001 what are you? a black women? im just telling you what i know. just calm down.

  • @levaslevas No I'm Russian so what you KNOW is completely INVALID because you're WRONG. Get it? SWAT is just a heavy armored police unit. SWAT is not any kind of special forces. Spetznaz would be like the SAS or Navy SEALs. Learn your shit, it's not that hard.

  • @rocaho001 i've seen your vidieos, your not Russina.

  • @levaslevas pidaras konchenuy y menya net nekakih video savsem tu konchenuy dalbayob blyat suka. (Faggot I don't even have any kind of videos on my profile at all you're a total dumbfuck fucking bitch) Translated just for you motherfucker :) Fucking faggot. I would know if I'm Russian or not. You wouldn't. And next time you try to post some dumb shit pretending you know all about Russia and shit, think twice, Russians are on youtube too you fucking buffoon. Pidar.

  • @rocaho001 fuck off already! your acting like a child.

  • @levaslevas Says the guy who pretends to know things because he's an ignorant buffoon? Go read a book bitch.

  • @levaslevas You think I'll stop and you want me to leave because you're embarassed you silly little lying loser. Quit lying to people about stuff you have 0 clue about.

  • @rocaho001 your on;y failing to insult me because your trying to insult me.

  • @levaslevas Yea I know you can't insult an idiot because usually he's an ignorant fool. But it fulfills me knowing that I proved an idiot wrong. How stupid do you got to be to post complete bullshit out of your ass by presenting it as fact. Fuck you for trying so hard to sound smart. You must have a shit life to go so far to try to sound informed or educated. Read a book motherfucker.

  • @levaslevas and again, you just told me I'm not Russian. And you were wrong again. The more you talk the more everyone can see how fucking dumb you are. I won't stop till you stop because you'll just prove some more how fucking dumb and ignorant you are. You're just a complete fucking idiot.

  • @rocaho001 You keep going on and on about a simple comment, like some fat-ass faggot. Its hard to keep a straght face reading what you are "informing" me about.

  • @levaslevas Lol why do you keep changing the subject from the point at hand. I'm not "informing" you about anything. All I'm saying is you presented a lie, something you fucking MADE UP, as a FACT. And that's fucking sad. I guess the only thing that's pretty funny is how said you are. You're at a low low level in life buddy, it's time to really reevaluate yourself if you have to lie online to look smart.

  • @rocaho001 i only told you what i was told,i don't study the russian army,or police or anything. i only told you what i thought was true.

  • @levaslevas Ok fine.

  • @rocaho001 thank you.

  • @rocaho001 Even as a british citizen id say that spetznaz might even be in a class of their own above SAS and SEALs

  • @NoLeftThumbs They're definitely some brave hardcore mofos. but the SAS and SEALs are some flawless brutal mofos too. I remember when that school hostage situation happened in Beslan, Russa. Some of the special forces guys were covering kids with their bodies knowing that they will die. Truly brave soldiers.

  • @NoLeftThumbs definitely. probably has something to do with russia's "brutality" when concerning those who oppose their law. they;re just a no-nonsense people and they'll easily give their lives to protect public, like shielding civilians with their bodies, something SAS or SEALS wouldnt do, because its crazy. brave as hell though.

  • @jimmyhoffa9 SAS and SEALs would probably do that too in fairness.

  • @NoLeftThumbs maybe, but russians have that radical training and are crazily patriotic.

  • @levaslevas no it isnt. spetsnaz just means special forces, which is generally associated with military. they're much more than swat teams, they have more training and bigger operational scenarios.

  • how much does one of those cost in the US?

  • sweet!

the pink target prints is a nice touch!

  • очень изобретательный матери России

  • My father had one .

  • Lovely little gun, good shooting friend!

  • @cantroos fine, you win. It wasn't a true story. I was making a joke by saying that it was true when it clearly wasn't likely to be true. I have learned my lesson about lying. Are you happy now?

  • where did u get those grips?

  • Check out my channel to see a Polish P-83 (Mak) in action. Bad ass gun and the best looking out of all the maks imo. Fits right in my pocket yet is verrry accurate for its size.

  • Is this real and if so i need to know how did you obtain it?

  • @TheRockopolis He wrote a letter to santa claus

  • This gun gives me a boner. True story.

  • @XaMitV that means you're a gay man, not that there's anything wrong with that. And if you can fit your tiny little weiner into a 9mm barrel, I think we can all see why you are 40 and still living in your parent's basement earning $11/hour. Good job though 11.50 is not far away.

  • @cantroos Don't you think that's a tad uncalled for? I make a joke and you insult both my penis size and life? (or you're just trollin', in which case I'll just ignore you after this)

  • @XaMitV Well then explain to me how a reasonable human being can "true story" become sexually arroused by a handgun, that's very disturbing, like psychopathic or sadistic. Or it's the other case which I originally speculated upon.

  • Case ejection is VERY positive on my Bulgarian Mak. Never had a failure of any kind with any ammo, hollowpoint or hardball. It seems to like Barnaul "Brown Bear" best.

  • horrible grip....

  • I fear for your left index finger, why not wrap around the indents of your right hand and have your thumb along the side of the slide? I love this pistol, so controlable. Does your Bulgarian one have a lot trigger slack? My Russian one has almost half an inch of place if the hammer is back.

  • wtf cold ar pistol?

  • The 9x18 mak is not the same as the .380. The .380 is 9x17. Good video through.

  • go to findmakarov . com

  • Its like sex in a gun :)

  • @ revan7666 I've seen the guns and I admit you're right about the AK-47 and the STG-44 being different, but the Makarov is essentially the same thing as a PPK, just with a different bullet and 2 more rounds per clip. and by the way, don't talk to people you don't know like you're so goddamn smart you prick

  • The Makarov feels strange to me. I prefer more of a longer barrel, like the Tokarev.

The Makarov just feels too small :D

  • The 9x18 round is more powerful than a 380. It's in between a 380 and a 9x19 round.

  • @ GassNaut The Makarov was an almost identical copy of the Wather PPK The main difference was that the Makarov has 8 rounds per clip and the PPK has 6. The AK-47 was modeled off of the German STG-44, and those are the main two that I've heard about... so yeah really.

  • @elmakarov REALLY? What are you? another CoD idiot that thinks you know guns from playing the game? The Kalashnikov and Sturmguwerre have almost nothing in common! Look at the internal designs of the gun and they are NOTHING alike. You can't judge the gun on its appearance! Hell, just read Mikhail Kalashnikov's auto-biography, and he plainly says that the two have nothing in common, and he did not take anything from it.

  • @revan7666 you do know his design was completely based off of the Stg 44 in fact almost every assult rifle with the type of gas system like the Ak-47 used the STG 44's design because of its insane durability maby the looks arnt the same but if you were to feild strip it you could see alot of resemblence

  • @revan7666 also if you want to inform some one about your opinion dont get all agro and start spewing hate mail

  • It is said that the Mak was a copy of the German Walther PP. They are very similar in size and take down is the same. Currently, the Mak and the smaller PPK are two of the most popular METAL frame concealed carry pistols with both in .380 caliber. I have one of each and love them both. The PPK goes with me all the time while the Mak stays next to my bed. If you can find a nice Russian Makarov (good luck) for less than 300, you better jump on it quick as they are getting harder to find.

  • i have this gun in air pistol form (i live in UK) exact replica apart from the innards obviously. love it!

  • And the Makarov like other Russian guns was almost perfectly coppied off of a German weapon...

  • @elmakarov well not really.... :/

  • i found it hard to get my hold on that gun, but once i got it... man its a fun piece. only complaint are those rounds.. man my thumb and forefinger were green when i got home

  • Russians have there makarov, us germans have our luger... I like them both equally

  • why is your left index finger in front of trigger gaurd??? Just wondering if it helps with accuracy. Seems alittle dangerous. Not hating on you.

  • Think about how many capitalist pigs this gun extinguished comrades.

  • @DrumminD21311 They extinguish communist pigs just as well,

  • It's like I'm really playing STALKER.

  • actually the .380 acp is equivelant to a 9x17MM round a 9x18 mm makarov is slightly more powerful than a 380 but still ballistically inferior to the 9x19mm parabellum

  • @asznam

what are you complaining about ? in Brazil people can't even own a hundgun without

    a 1000 documents. a glock 28, I think, is about 1.000 US$, or 2,000 R$, Brazilian money

  • can you use 380 acp ammo in it?

  • looks pretty accurate!

  • i used to shoot with the original russian makarov when i was 5 years old on new years eve, because my grandfather was in the georgian militia. nice thing, brings back memories..

  • I didn't agree, the 9mm Makarov is a bit more powerful than the 380 acp, although not so much as the 9mm Luger or Parabellum

  • With wooden grip its awesome

  • I love these guns, and really want one. So badly I almost want to make it my carry gun because I plan to buy that the day I turn 21. Only thing I don't like about them is the lack of an ambidextrous safety. Sucks being a lefty sometimes, but most modern autos I can manage with just fine.

  • I got a question, how would you compare the PM to a Bersa Thunder(038 cal.)? better or worse or same?

  • its so cute and such like ppk, but its have no airsoft, so sad

  • the steel cased rounds always jam in the one i fire...whats up w/that.

  • Looks like the German Walther PP

  • I picked up an East German Makarov pistol for $150 out the door. Great pistol!

  • can you tell me what s the song from the intro?

  • I bought one because I always am fascinated with Russian weapons.

And they work pretty good and are a good deal. I shoot .380 auto in mine.

  • looks like a 22. round

  • @emmit2009 looks like you don't know what you are talking about

  • @mafiaslicka i dont really know what im talking about i just guess on the size of the bullet and shell

  • Did the gun come with that grip or did you have to buy it?If so where did you buy the grip?

  • The 9X18 is more of a midpoint between .380 and 9mm Luger.

  • @Spec0psGrunt Its more like a hot .380 round. 527 from THR.

  • hi i have a question

Why does my makarov have a shield with stars instead of one star like other makarov?

  • @albaniashqiptar It's possible it may have either replacement grips or may not be an actual makarov but another similar 9x18 pistol. How long have you had it? Where'd you buy it? Do you know what country/region it's from? This might help you answer the latter: makarov com/graphics/markings.jpg but thanks to youtube rules you'll need to replace spaces with dots and add the 3 w's at the start.

  • THIS GUN IS IN CALL OF DUTY!

  • This needs to be C&R eligible. I hope the BATF is reading this!

  • nice i just picked up an original russian makarov made by IMEZ for 200 bucks at a guns show, i can't stop touching my makarov SO AWSOME!!!

  • How heavy are those

  • is it accurate compared to Beretta M9 or some other pistols ?

  • @yurishan1994 Put it this way: my first shot with it EVER was a dead-on bullseye. And I was able to recreate it.

  • @Wickedpenguin awesome!!!

  • not equivalent. .380 acp = 9x17 and 9mm makarov = 9x18 !

  • @turk464 : As DictionaryDOTcom puts it: corresponding in position, function, etc. Not the same, but fills a similar niche. I am not saying you can chamber a .380 round in a standard 9x18 Mak. However, there are Maks that have been rechambered/rebarelled for .380.

  • I'm getting this for Christmas. Literally.

  • Makarov, the first pistol to be carried into space. :)

  • @esh325 AFAIK Russian astronauts were using a special three barrel pistol. One is rifled for a standard AK round and two smoothbore. It has a detachable buttstock which is also a machete. They discontinued using it since 2006 cause all flight are joint now and NASA dislikes an idea of a gun at ISS.

  • @esh325

    To kill aliens?

  • @DrumminD21311 possibly.

  • Are you shooting at the Canadian Valley Rifle range in Yukon, Oklahoma ? Dude, I shoot there sometimes. Way cool........
