@yamibalus The reason Albedo is "batshit insane" is that during the events of xenosaga 2, when he was young he found out that Rubido (JR) would die of old age or for some other reason due to his lack of extreme regenetive ablitys unlike the abilities Albedo had, he could cut off his own head and it would grow back. Albedo did not want to live without his twin brother and hence the insanity started with the fear of his brother dying and leaving him alone.

Albedo is arguably one of the darkest and most succesful villains ever. And this theme certainly helps with it.
