THe relation with cell phones is that the final motto is: "really think about it before getting engaged" => Bouygues Telecom, the cell phone operator without engagement
As someone mentioned, it has never been banned in France, saw it many times, and for those who wonder how it relates to cell phone, at the end of the ad, it says "Think before engaging yourself", then "Nomad, the cell phone without engagement", and that's it... ~;o)
It was not banned at all. But it made alot of noise and was showed among the "best pubs ever" in a cult show (very long existance for such a show) on tv advertising here in France: "Culture Pub" from the channel M6... ;-)
Bouygues's customers figures suddenly grew after this in France...
There are other ads around this thema ("think before engaging yourself") for the same campaing which were great too. The female version actually...At the end of her first love night with her new husband in what's supposed to be an "honeymoon" hotel in a country like Morocco maybe, the very in love girl discovers she was part of a harem...lol ;-)

What is this ad trying to sell?
kitbor 5 years ago
That's why you do it before getting married, it's the only way to know you can really spend the rest of your life with someone.

Yeah but it gets more hits from Americans if you say "banned" infront of it.
