such a tragic death, gotta hand it to the directors it was brilliantly done! I love how when she gets shot and slowly dies as everyone looks on helpless all you hear is the rain and low violins slowly playing over it !

You can actually here their love theme here most prominantly alongside the scene in the tent. It's replayed again in its most beautiful version during their reunion scene in 'The End'. I looooove the part at 1:07 where it really kicks in. Its sooo sad it almost makes me cry. :'( I just remind myself that they are together again and eventually move on together in peace.

actually it was just confirmed by the producers last week that maggie would indeed return and that they had a 'good story for her'. theyre currently filming the final 3 episodes and we dont know how many she'll be in, but even if its just the series finale ill be happy!

@THEprojectMIKE I agree - never was there ever a moment in any of the relationships where one was just about to give up all belief and the other stated that they would never leave them and they they love them in the way Sayid says this to Shannon. True love no matter what they say.
