@TheOats If you can afford it and not interested in video then I would go with the D700. They are actually 2 different classes of camera between the 700 and the 7000. The D700 is FX format 12 megapixel, a full frame sensor and the price is 2600 (body only), the D7000 is DX format 16 megapixel and is a cropped sensor and the price is 1200 (body only).....hands down the 700 is a better camera. I got the D7000 because I wanted to do DSLR video and still be able to use my D700 lenes.
Which one would you recommend, D700 or D7000? I'm not interested in filming, at all.
