I was surprised to find myself across a table from Andy & his wife in 1986. A drunken evening passed & I teased him about how he got onto 60 minutes. Mr. Rooney - You are one of the many writers and newscasters that made me want to become a writer. Your biting wit and statement of simple truths was always the reason I watched 60 Minutes with my grandparents as a child. For 20 years, I've watched you speak about whatever was on your mind, and it shaped me as the writer I am today.
