  • Cute TV! i collect tvs

  • @Chenoholic88 I don't know. And of course now they don't air in antenna. At least in the US.

  • I have one like this I am uploading a video of right now. It makes me sad how DTV Transition makes me only able to watch the spanish network. At least it has AV inputs, that rocks.

  • sooper tv

  • i love the old staticy tv's there is nothing like that sweet staticy sound i miss analog i have a 95 color jcpenny 32 inches

  • Because the image is blue?

  • I have a 78 model too, but mine's a Sears black n'white - 6 yrs. ago paid $5 for it at a Goodwill!!!! Yours is right nice too!!!! I have 6 old t.v.s I need more ;)

  • Ain't that the same type of television used by the survivors in Dawn of the Dead 1978!? Great find!

  • i have one it works great, is it worth anything?

  • You could use it with VCRs, etc. I would say "No" to throwing it away.

  • I also have my JVC portable black & white TV which I got at a yard sale last year and it works good. This old JVC portable B&W TV was made in 1976 and it has a built-in antenna where it carries analog broadcast until June 12th, if anyone has a digital box, you can hook your digital converter box to your JCPenny portable TV.

  • Yeah see how many channels you get on 2/18/2009 I can't wait for this day... There are going to be so many people out there with no TV that day LOL!

  • Only 5% of people will be with out tv we all went to cable and satalite way before the deadline was even said lol.

  • It's higher then that... According to Centris, there are more than 17 million households currently receiving only over-the-air (OTA) analog signals in the U.S., of which 54% are located in challenging reception areas. 9.2 million U.S. households could experience receptivity problems with digital TV signal coverage in the upcoming DTV transition on February 17, 2009.

  • even though I do have cable, I quite enjoy tuning into those uhf and vh signals for some reason even though there are only three of them where I live. does this deadline apply in canada too?

  • Actually, two things. One, The DTV transition was moved to June 17th.

Two. 6.5 million people still have analog. I am one of them. Color portable TV. Goes in the car, too!

  • Is that in the US? Cause if it is more time, then that's good news.

  • Actually, the government has changed

their mind on that, the deadline is still February 17th, 2009

as planned! because they realized it would've created problems for TV stations that are either almost ready

to go completely digital or have already gotten rid of all

their analog equipment, and with the cost to keep analog

signals running for four more months, it wouldn't even be

    worth it!

  • You mean June 12th, I should say.

  • shit well i have a Magnavox TV/VCR combo tv set that i use for the VHS Show has a attena on top

  • yeah and good news,my watchman won't become useless.

  • oh great now next year my watchman won't work unless i get a analong to digital box coverter.

  • I hope with the new digital TV we have 83 free channels to watch, like they promised us back when they allocated UHF.

  • I've seen a bunch of TVs that say 'Solid State'. What was that?

  • It means they use transistors instead of vacuum tubes.

  • Watching this stuff is making me realize how much Im gonna Miss analog Tv as it used to be. By The Way...I have the same TV too and we can get the batteries at home depot 2-6volt(emergency lighting) replacements work.

  • Comment removed

  • after 2/17/2009 you have to have a comverter box with built in tuner in order to use to view an old tv

  • NNOOOOOOOOOOO!!

  • Nice TV! That was made by RCA.

  • Nice old TV. Too bad It won't get any reseption after 2009. Dang! You get a lot of channels! I get 7 channels over the air. 4 come in clear enough to watch and 3 are worth watching.

  • This clip has make TV interesting again

  • nice tv! looks like it was made by panasonic or ge.

  • I don't believe it, I'm watching the same 'Soft Rock' infomercial RIGHT NOW here in Australia at 3am. Ooooooo! The picture being cut off like that is called 'over-scan'. Great robust little TV. Getting harder to buy a B&W portable these days...

  • That is a VERY nice TV, Ricky!
