Nancy 's is good and so is Nina's. They both give different interpretations, and BOTH are spot on and really reveal the meaning of the song. I too, prefer Nina's version but that doesn't make me like Nancy' s any less. Nancy loves him and throws him away without regret. Nina still loves him and regretfully and sorrowfully let's him go. Big difference.
It's such a blessing on humanity to have both singers interpretation of this song. I switch from one to the other ecstatically. I especially appreciate the live versions.
@ppehsy I wish someone would post it. I had it on the Nina at Town Hall album and Nina's Choice. One of those albums also had The Other Woman, one of the most incredible performances of a great song. Also, Simone's performance of Suzanne outranks all others.
Somebody needs to post a cleaner copy of this.
