  • You cannot comprehend how much this makes me miss the British Isles, my home. Wonderful playing.

  • @JamieWayneRothery

In future just think of it as English music that Irish groups sometimes play.

  • Only just discovered this and brings back such wonderful memories and how I miss those memories. John has always been an absolutely brilliant player and Richard, well most definitely a heart-breaker but he already knows that. A.

  • fantastic love it, cheers Dave

  • Not really toffs-just two nice regular guys- can be booked for parties and weddings too. Larger band with caller available. 0115 9655382

  • ironic these to are prob toffs playing peasent music ,i like it very muchly kind sir's

  • Nice :)

  • wish I could hear more english folk somewhere

  • @RandomSam189 If you want to hear good traditional English music on Youtube search for John Kirkpartrick, Pete Coe, Brian Peters, Mary Humphries & Anahata. These are some of the best performers on the English Folk scene, but there are lots more. Also try Vin garbutt, a great writer of contemporary songs.

  • @RandomSam189 its so rare now its a shame

  • great stuff

  • What's the tune called?

  • Sorry, but I don't know. Richard and John will be playing at the Lambley Arts Festival public meeting this month (Nov 09), so if I get the chance to ask them I will. Or come along and ask them yourself!

  • Oooo, I'd LOVE to come. With music like this how could I refuse! The combination of demanding family commitments, shift work and distance sadly precludes me. I will be ever so grateful to you however if you can find out the name of the tune. And have you any more like this that you can post one here?

  • Probably from William Winters Tune Book A favourite duet by Mr holmes. Check out the backing music to the other clips on the Lambley arts page

  • Yes, I've now confirmed that. Funnily enough it's called Le Canal en Octobre - French!, aka in English the Canal in October. From William Winter's Quantock Tune Book. More from Richard and John here soon!

  • maybe slightly dodgy sound but its the only english folk music I've found on youtube so far! I enjoyed it...:-)
