The peacock is amazingly gracefull and precise when it attacks. It does flying attacks. The turkey is like a boxer. He jabs in but is more of a low hitter. One of my peacocks takes on 3 males and 2 females at the same time. He's freakin amazing but of course can't win when the turkeys attack as a group. Turkies do coordinate group attacks extremely well.

They're part of the same family of birds, so they reconise each other's territorial displays. You can see them sizing each other up by jumping, spreading their wings, and circling. The peacock decided it wasn't worth it, and backed down.
