I love Rachel Brice she is who inspired me to go to classes and learn bellydance. I can only hope to someday dance as good as she does. And as for walking off the stage that is just her attitude it makes her who she is and lends an air of mystery I think.
I love the bit from 1:30-1:40; she has her eyes closed, and she looks so incredibly fused with the music, and then she opens her eyes, and suddenly we all feel like voyeurs.
And I think her walking offstage at the end is perfect.
One observer descibed tribal dancing as the following: "This approach to the dance turns it from the performance, toward the personal. When you watch it, you feel more like you're eavesdropping." I think her walking away at the end of her performance really nails it!
she walked out because that is the way she wanted to exit, its not that she doesn't love her fan it's the point that is how the dance is chereographed.
I think it was less disrespect and her more "staying in character." Her song is creepy and it would feel unnatural to bow or pose at the end, in my opinion
I love this clip. Others have posted it on YouTube before.
As much as I love to watch Ms. Brice, and as amazing as she is, I find this particular "exit" to be dismissive and disrespectful to the audience. No, she doesn't have to "do a million things to say goodbye", but most performers worth their salt will tell you to always acknowledge the audience; after all, *they* are the reason you're there.
i like the way she walked out, too. but i don't think this is disrespect thou...she is doing tribal right? from the BDSS clips i've seen on youtube, i think this is their unique way of saying goodbye when it comes too tribal bellydance...:)
her just walking off gives me chills every time. its part of the show the dance and the lights and the music makes her looks like a ghost...something un-real and if she were to break that and bow and smile and wave it would kill it...she danced as a ghost and she left the same way...she wasn't entertaining you in a show...you found her dancing and when she saw you were watching..she left...like a pixy...lol i have an over active imagination
I love her outfits so much! She is amaizing!

Her walk out was perfect.
When I watch this, I can never help but fall into a trance. I'm enchanted by every fluid movement and muscular twitch. I am sucked in entirely...
Then she just walks away and I'm left saying "Whoa... What the hell just happened?" THAT is an awesome feeling to me.

I TOTALLY agree. She's putting on a good show. :) It's all for the performance. She's in the mood, it's very spiritual and i love it.

you're right the audience is PART of the reason she's there cause she's there mostly cause of her talent but i like how she just walked out..
