A few months ago, I bought a CD at a convention that had the nerve to call itself the soundtrack to The Abominable Dr. Phibes. What was it REALLY? A collection of songs by Paul Frees in a series of celebrity voices (which was ok, I guess, but NOT what I paid $40 to hear!). The ONLY song from the movie it had was Darktown Strutter's Ball, but it was a completely different version. ;(

@Bobzeaux Yeah I bought that album in the '80s and it was horrible. I learned quickly to recognize the distinction between "original soundtrack from . . . " and "music from the soundtrack . . . ".

Brilliant theme! Always gives me the chills! Call me self-aggrandizing, but sometimes I get up from bed imagining I'm Dr. Phibes coming out of suspended animation and this theme plays in my head! I'm such a geek! :P
