I'm not the worlds greatest guitarist or anything but I think when you're going for a really clean tone a guitarist should back off on the volume a tad to avoid distortion when you pluck hard. Sounds amazing though, such a beautiful sounding amp. And I want to fall in love sounded so full and touching or soulful.

@streetfarter Thanks! Greg consistently uses an SM7B for the close mic with a Cascade Fat Head II Ribbon mic with Lundahl transformer upgrade out in the room located where the amp sounds best to his ear.

Could you please describe the difference in tone between the C30 and the Avalon even though the Avalon is based from channel one of the C30. I loved the class A Matchless sound but found the C30 to piercing for my ears in the highs.

@Blade686 In person it almost looks like a Matchless head attached to a relatively small 1x12 cab so yes, it is a good sized amp; like a permanently attached 1x12" piggyback rig. Not nearly as heavy as an SC30 though. Thanks for the comment!
