  • Wow! I love the sign at 00:52....my best guess as to what was being designed was ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter?

  • that's right :-)

  • as future president of Walt Disney World opperations, I will bring back the magic and the imagination and all that goes with it :D

  • 1983Horizon1 you added a picture of Island of Adventures which is part of Universal Orlando.

  • "If we had the power to bring our neighbors home from war"

refers to the Imagineers who were laid off and went on to build Islands of Adventure with no creative restrictions.

  • Very neat, I did not know that.

  • Yes it is about profit these days but what isn't?

To comment on all the attractions just being about the films now, they have always been about the films. Peter pan, snow white, 20,000 leagues, splash mountain (song of the south) Cinderella's castle or Sleeping Beauty's Castle. They were all Disney animated or live action films. Walt Disney believed you must always keep moving forward, a perfect example would be EPCOT, he was always thinking about progress and making things better.

  • Yes, but all the attractions you've mentioned are within the boundaries of fantasyland, where they belong. The characters are now polluting every nook and cranny of the parks deducting from the thematic elements that those areas are supposed to (and originally did) present.

  • Okay I hear what your saying but unfortnately I think they have an obligation *because of Disney Channell) to put those characters in the parks so that kids will recognize them everywhere so that they keep coming back, again it all goes back to the money. One good thing is that they are not putting the horribly produced Disney Channel movies back into the parks, other than HSM.

  • @digifreedude The only evidence of that is whatever we do have of the Disney Channel movies has been compressed into one 20-minute street show at DHS.

  • im 24 and i miss the old slow rides like horizons and world of motion. Dream flight was my fave as a kid and if they had that still i would ride as much now as i did as a kid. probably shed a tear too

  • I kind of agree of all these things you are saying. Disney is the one place that is con actually relax. All the other amusement parks make you walk walk walk walk. In disney, you have good ol' main street that you can sit at the parlor, and watch all the little kids bee hysterically funny when they see the castle and mickey...

    it just never stops.

Disney is fine the way it is.

  • The problem is that instead of creating more new and interesting attractions, Disney has stuck to linking every ride to a new movie that can be, so when the novelty wears off so does the magic. That and they've decided to age target little kids and 20 somethings. They've taken away the slow moving take in the scenery rides, meaning elderly people and people with medical issues can't enjoy as many rides with the rest of their family. Disney used to be about family and creativity, now about movies

  • Folks like you need to stop being so bitter and mean-spirited!

Man, I so despise all of you worthless change-haters!!!

  • Wow...great video...kinda choked up a bit at the end. When you go there as often as I do...it's easy to see the downhill spiral over the years.

  • MAGIC RUNS ON PROFIT

  • Hmm, nice video but I didn't really get the message. It seemed a little gloomy especially with the picture of the castle with the storm. What exactly is the message in the video?

  • love your videos. please keep them coming.
