My mother introduced me to John's music in 1975, playing this fabulous LP and all of CCR:s records and I was hooked from the first note and have been so ever since! I just love this man and his music, a true rock and roll legend, a great songwriter and a voice that few can match!
Fabulous song, loved it in '75 and it's still brilliant, it's just too short! It's one of those songs that you want to go on for another 2/3 miniutes. Fantastic album too.
An album I bought at Christmas of 1975. This is one of my favorite tunes on it, although the whole album is terrific. I love the scenes that you have chosen for this song--the photographs are breathtaking. Thanks for posting. BTW--I love Dave Edmunds, too, and think that his version is A-OK.
Edmunds version is tame,Only Fogerty can do his own music justice.I really like D Edmunds also but Fogerty is a R N R legend something Dave can only dream about
@Hicksie52 The great thing about music is we can all appreciate the true greats and their work,I love JF/CCR but I respect your view. Its simply a fantastic piece of RnR
This surely would have been a CCR tune if the band hadn't had such an ugly breakup. Although John was 95 percent of CCR, Doug, Stu and Tom were a unique rhythm section and caused CCR to sound like CCR. I would have loved to hear this song by the original Creedence.
I'm a huge Edmunds fan, and always thought he and Fogerty looked a lot alike! However, I have to respectfully disagree that Edmunds' version is better.
captures it all,as fogerty always does! whoever put this clip scene thing together, thanks man it was f((kin great! loved it! i love someones uploaded a loada creedence stuff with a nice photo of the 4 band, b&w...says it all, john wants t keep tom in the band, and is sayin, "hey guys ,its u who make it"so hes standin in the back n holdin tom...but its probly too late by that point i guess. CC f((kin R!!!!!!
I like this version better than the cleaned up live version. His voice sounds more raw and the guitar lines are punchier. Both of Fogerty's versions rock though, naturally.
Unbelieveable! This is the coolest song. I'd given up finding it on youtube long ago. Please please, if you haven't, please post 'where the river flows.'
I believe the whole of John Fogerty's early works contain the essence of what is missing from my generation: raw heart, in a word-- that being said, I believe you have given back a little to the sad void that is 'modern music.' Thank you so much-- I can learn how to play it now!
Awesome! Fogerty is one of the best! Always enjoy his music!
