  • I've been doing a form of vacuums for years now. picked it up in a fitness mag years ago. As I exhale, i forcefully push out the air from my gut, and as a mental note, i think of sucking my tummy so hard that my belly button were trying to reach for my spin. I feel all my abs pull a deep contraction as i do. I then try to hold the contraction of my abs for as long as i can until i need to breath in again

I know its good that ur listening to the comments out there but dont worry about all the sceptics and critics as u have achieved more in a life time than most people have.   • Hey Darin great info! With the slower technique through the rep range(3-1) does it allow you to increase your weight usage and decrease the amount of reps for a given set and still achieve growth to the muscle? Or is it best to keep the weight lighter so u can get more of a mind/ muscle connection?

  • @xkruulx I do listen to your comments. And you can lose 10 lbs. before summer is over. Make sure that upon wakening you lace up your sneakers and get outside. Start powerwalking and about every 3-4 minutes jog/sprint for about 100 yards. Do 5-6 jogs in 20 minutes. Then wait an hour and have a lean protein with a vegetable type carb. then eat protein and carbs (very small portion) ever 3 hours. That should do it for your.

  • @Stifledsubmission yeah, basically when you exercise, i assume you know muscles need oxygen, well basically when you breath properly, you get more oxygen to your muscles so you don't go into oxygen definciency i think it's called?, so this helps stop cramping etc, plus you'll be able to exercise for longer, well thats what i find anyway, i think that's along the right lines?

  • Hi there,

    I'm just getting back into the swing of things after a shoulder injury knocked me out of the loop for just around three months and was going to try your medicine ball squat jump routine to burn off the excess fat that I have put on.

    I am wondering if you were saying to do both the double leg sets and the single leg sets for the routine, or if you are to pick EITHER the double leg routine or the single leg routine.

    Thanks for all of the effort you put into fitness and information. JEM

  • @jem6428 I would try all three. Make sure to rest a couple minutes in between each set.

    i love bodybuilding i am 14 i started BB when i was 10 i started with push ups pull and crunch then i started using weights when i was 13 now i m gonna b 15 at 4 of augest

    i m going thru a tooth prob it is too painful so i was not able to eat anything and cant do workout

    i am so sad coz i have lost almost all of my muscle

    can i put up all of dat muscle easily or not plz reply i am so SAD

  • @Stifledsubmission yes you can. I have most of my clients on 2-5 hours of exercise per week. Do whatever feels right for you and your lifestyle.  I think a great place to start is 2 60 minute resistance sessions per week along with 2-3 45 minute Interval cardio sessions per week.

  • yo darren, question i love plyometrics but im heavy man i mean heavy not fat hahaha im a 1.9 meter almos 100 kilos so any comment on that because y run and do my plyos but i think my weigth its messing with my ankles, yet still i have to tell to people that slow going boring cardio its not the way to go and explosivve training rocks belive me i been training for almost 8 years now and have a degree in nutrition so belive me this guy knows what he is talking about

  • D has it right - breath with your diaphragm, not your lungs. If your shoulders are moving when you breathe deeply, and not your tummy, you're missing out on a lot of air intake. A teacher of mine way back told me that there are only two types of people that breathe properly: athletes and wind musicians. He was right!

  • haha! i love how you allways keep your arms up to display the bottom half of the four arm muscle, and to keep the shoulders prenounced as they rise and tense slightly during the whole process lol

    but you can do that, beasty natural bodybuilder if you was on the juice you would look a lot like andy hayman, probably bigger.

I'm a trainer as well, and I've researched them all for years and years, and Darin is one of two that I still follow (the other being Steve Turano), for three reasons: they deal in the truth, they have experience and know what they are talking about, and they are positive.

  • Hey darin I workout 4 times a week around an hour a session on different musle groups, i.e chest one day then back thre next . My question is if thats the best way to work out and whats the best all in one supplement? I have been takin usn anobolic, I get reasonable results but need to get more ripped. Thanks
