As a Canadian, I feel compelled to remind people that Canadian climates aren't as cold as they're made out to be; at least not in the parts of Canada where most people live.

Places like Yukon, Nunavut, or Northwest Territories are pretty cold all right; but those places combined house only about 0.3% of Canada's population.

This is option 2, and the right one. So yes, I find it satisfactory.

Politicians even use a similar tactic, e.g. "My opponent is for civil unions? Then I will be for marriage and sling mud that they aren't really "down."
