  • I had an experience just like this with a twist. I went on a Disney Cruise... taking of in Florida and I live in PA. So I had to be there by 4 the flight left at 12 with a 2hr flight and 1hr bus ride. They canceled my flight and rescheaduled my flight for 2:00! I had to miss the emergency drill... and I was 8... I couldn't sit right next to my mom on the plane u no thats a big deal when ur 8. As soon as I got on the cruise they lifted anchor and took off. My God that was a Stressful day!

  • How much do u want to bet the United Airlines CEO makes millions of dollars every year but United acts like it cant find any money anywhere in its budget to compensate this poor guy. What about the airport too? We can put people on the moon but somehow r expected 2 believe this is 2 difficult of a problem 2 b prevented? Get real. Changes 2 the baggage-handling system could b made. Maybe tight-scheduled flights make being a handler stressful. If so, then the handlers deserve a better system, 2.

Secondly, I am no traveler rookie, ( there is only one l in traveler) I have flown the friendly skies many times, and yes, I know (there is a k, n and an o in the word KNOW) that most don't throw luggage, but some do. Thirdly, I am the shit with my lame jokes. They obviously affected you enough to point out how "lame" they are.

He tried to follow the process they gave him for filing a claim, and fought them about it for NINE MONTHS. They denied him every time. What other options did he have, and why does the song idea bother you? I think it's great that we live in a time where a single person can creatively make issues public.   • This is the reason I have not checked luggage with any airline in more than twenty-five years!

    I had some very bad experiences with lost/damaged luggage.

    Carry-on only for me! Only the essentials. If I need somthing at my destination...I buy it and give it away when I leave for home. It's cheaper than fighting with those people for months!

  • This brings back memories. I sat in a plane and watched as my luggage was tossed onto the conveyor into the plane. I closed my eyes, turned on some music and sighed.

  • I've never flown them, but I've heard plent of bad stuff about Ryanair. Personally I've never had any problems with United, but I will never, ever, EVER, fly with American Airlines ever again. Even if the choice is between going with them or walking. I'll walk thanks. It'll be less hassle and aggravation.

    luggages even tagged "handle with care" are not cared at all.

    poor are the passengers who trust in the flight companies and thirds behind them to look after their belongings.

    they damage a suitcase and pay to get it repaired, but there are things which can't get repaired plus the long time waiting.

  • Thing is, a lot of people (ESPECIALLY us musicians) don't actually trust them to handle with care at all, but what can you do, ship your guitar on a cruise liner while you fly to your gig 6 days in advance so it has time to arrive? :D

    Doesn't matter how the package is tagged when your boss wants you to unload an entire trailer by yourself in under 40 minutes they all look the same.

    Seriously folks, make sure your stuff is packaged well enough to withstand a hurricane.

    Ive been working for British Airways for the past 5 years on the Cargo Area. Yea...of course we got problems as every freaking airline...but thats no way an excuse for what happened to Dave as other ppl around the world. United is pretty much the worst airline with the worst cargo handling system in the entire OACI system.

  • As of yesterday United make an UNDERWHELMING gesture of donating $3000 to a charity per Dave's request. They had a chance to make a grand gesture (like $35K to a charity) and they totally blew it. They really DON'T care and have proven it. They figure this will blow over.
