god, it sickens me that someone so talented isn't recognized in the music industry. (Matt Barlow) I completely understand his reasons for leaving the band but it didn't make it any less tragic.

I'm a huge Iced Earth fan, and if you listen to the Rock Hard performance, Matt Barlow voice doesn't sound THIS good, and it's just the touring effect, the wastage and all that implies a tired performance. This one is just perfect and if you've been listening to Iced Earth ANYTHING in studio, you could catch the difference between that and live. And it's well known that bands re-record some parts in studio during the edition, captain obvious.
