I love my Wii....I also love my Xbox 360 and Ps3. Since Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft don't pay me to put over any of their products. I can honestly say I have actually played my Wii more the past month then the other two. There is just something classic feeling and fun about alot of Wii games and there are some great ones.

Great review, I wonder if Mark was making a reference to the Light Sabers in The Force Unleashed that they don't cut from the first hit but you have to slash. Oh and my favorite recollection of Zorro was from the Anime series in 1996.

graphics are not the console's fault, it's the developers' fault. most 3rd party devs who work on the wii are too lazy work on the graphics, so they leave the wii's library overcrowded with shitty games with ps2 graphics (or worse).

Not really, the backgrounds have quite a bit of detail to them, although it isn't too exciting at first. Compare this to Perfect Dark for N64 where the brackgrounds are repetitive and bland in today's standards.

I'm not sure why people necessarily have to love one (the Wii) but hate the other (the PS3). I think both consoles are great at what they do and cannot be compared.

The only downside about the Wii is the lack of more mature games. I don't like the kiddie games so for me the library of good games on the Wii is limited but those few games I like have strong replay value. I only wish 3rd parties would released more games like The Conduit (i.e. more blood, gore and violence).

Perhaps you're right. I just generally meant more game for more mature gamers. I guess it's not just the amount of gore and violence but the overall setting / atmosphere.

I would even like to see more games in the vein of Metroid Prime, and not as many Zoro-type games where you can clearly see it's a kids game.

What I like about CGR is the honest enthusiasm for the medium. Mark is funny and adds real personality to his vids. It's an entertaining channel that highlights the fun to be had in all different types of games.

Im so glad I sold my Wii. Not that I would have to play this, but it seems like the games that aren't Nintendo made lack excessively. The idea of the Wii was to create a game system to appeal to all gamers, but I never found very many games that appealed to me. The PS3 has games like Little Big Planet, for everyone, and then games like MGS4 and GTA IV, to appeal to more intense gamers. I think the PS3 is doing a better job at having games for everyone.

First you have to license your game with Nintendo, right? That means that you have to have permission from them before releasing a game. Thus Nintendo can censor games deemed to be inappropriate.

Then how do you explain games like House of the Dead: Overkill? Nintendo has nothing to with the ratings on the games. The ESRB rates the games. Yes, developers need to license the games with Nintendo, but this doesn't mean that Nintendo censors the games before they come out. Also, Microsoft and Sony require games to be licensed as well. It's a normal industry practice.

Some people might say Mario Kart and Zelda are childrens' games but I enjoy them.

Serious games reviewers should examine all the foundations of a game regardless of who the game is aimed at.

I played Blot a few weeks ago - many parts of that game is enjoyed and would appeal to a wide audience even though it is aimed at children.

This man's recent reviews are more like adverts rather than reviews or critical assessments. I'm surprised he mentioned the repetitiveness of the game play.
