I am a US Marine have been to Iraq 3 times and all i have to say to you is that i was never once lied to or mislead by any of the three recruiters i had before i went to boot camp. It's a FACT that it was started after Fort Sumter, a Union fort, was attacked by Confederates, after Lincoln HIMSELF told them it was about to be resupplied.
The "freeing the slaves" was basically a positive outcome as a result of it.

Lincoln INVADED Fort Sumter with the intent of garrisoning Federal troops who were to set out collecting taxes at bayonette point from the Seceded Southerners. The "freeing" of slaves was nothing but a smoke screen for the usurpation of the Constitution by Lincoln and his power grab of the former Constitutional Republic government.

Marines kick down the doors that the Army is afraid of. Therefor, they enlist to be the best possible at their job. As a former Marine, yes they want killers not soldiers when it comes to combat. The seperation between the two comes in normal society. Some can interact normally, others can not. Don't fault the dog that guards your front door because if that dog goes away, you're gonna get robbed by a dog that's just as mean.

Try reading a civics book or at least opening up your ears. The city council didn't and couldn't ban Marines from recruiting in the city. What they did was to try to collaborate with the Marines as little as possible. Considering that America has already murdered about 1.2 million Iraqis without any meaningful justification this would seem to be the least they could do.
P.S. have you every been to France - or reading anything about it - or talked to someone who's been there? Of course not.

hey nukeforfun, the MAJORITY of people in the country now do not support the war, and I'm pretty sure most do support the troops. I am a Marine, I have served in Iraq, and I am not thrilled with the war either. Stop spreading your ignorant crap and understand that just because someone does not agree with the war, DOES NOT MEAN THEY DO NOT SUPPORT THE TROOPS!!! Many of my biggest supporters while I was in Iraq, ie my family and friends, did not agree with the war, does that make them wrong?

I think we should do like Lincoln, send the military to Berkeley, arrest the leaders of the city, try them for treason and hang them, then use the Marines to restore order. Berkeley is in rebellion just like the South was in the Civil War, if they don't like the rest of US, fine, they can speak but take no actions against us.
