stupid question but I can't type in duh duh duh into Google and I've heard this song all my life and should know the title but don't....What is the ACTUAL name of this song???
Great stuff here. IMO, the top three are: "Giants win the pennant" "Down goes Frazier" and "I don't beleive what I just saw" I would be bothered if anyone disagreed or your opinions.
Aside from Ali vs Frazier I don't think any of these clips would make the top 25 sports moments of the Global televised era. Where's South Africa winning the Rugby World Cup in '94, Brazil Football world cup 1970, Red Rum's third Grand National 1977, The underarm Australia vs New Zealand Cricket cup final of 82, Frankie Dettori riding the seven winner card, Borg vs McEnroe at Wimbledon, Man United's last minute Champions league final of '99 etc etc etc?
@captainbeecher Gibson's walk off Home Run in the World Series is not a great moment? The immaculate reception? That was a playoff game. And Bobby Thompson's shot heard around the world will be forever famous. Your obviously not from the U.S. Not saying the moments you mentioned were not great, but you got to consider what is popular here?
@dfc278 Which is why I stated GLOBAL televised era. it was to highlight the gulf between the United States and the rest of the World in what they consider major sporting events. For example probably the two most globally famous events involving the USA would be the miracle on grass [1950 world cup vs England] and the miracle on ice [1980 winter olympics vs USSR] neither of which made this list.
Yeah MLB is real pprotective about their footage. That and the McGuire stuff aren't anywhere. You would think they would want positive stuff like the Ripken victory lap out there as much as possible in this day and age.
