hey please i connected my pyle indash dvd PLBT74G everything connected right added the pink wire called lamp in so i can watch dvd and the brown parkin brake to the ground to watch dvds while driving , but the front buttons of the unit have to be illuminated blue color and they are not illuminated they are off, what should i do to have the front buttons of the unit illuminated how they supposed to look wit light blue color?
It's how i have my camera setup, the cameras are always on when the car is on and the monitor channel is activated so whether you use the monitor image as a background and or used it's channel it will always be on when the car is on so you don't need a switch!
Some stereos use a ground and some use power, you never need a switch1 Either use a different ground or run to power the stereo is using so the stereo thinks its in reverse or braking all the time so when you switch to a camera channel or DVD it will just be on!!!

the batterys negative because under my dash is all plastic i cant find the ground, also could i use the nut/bolt that is in the middle back of my radio as a switch ground? i currently have the cars ribbon/wire grounded to that in the back of my radio so would it be safe to also put the switch on the same ground?
I dont know if anyone knew but you can have the tv playing while driving you dont need a switch just hook up the pink wire to the ground and you dont need a switch and dont need a bypass code I had 3 screens and all of them work by hooking up the pink wire to the ground. Jensen uv8 Jensen uv9 Jensen uv10 all work like that no bypass code and no switches.
I finally took the time to make a video of how to do this automatically with the use of a 5 PIN automotive relay thereby eliminating the use of a toggle switch. Click on over to my channel and see the video. If you have any questions- let me know.
To add to my previous comment, the parking swicth usually is a pink insulated wire, if no metal on the wire is exposed (cheaper units) then trim the end of it.....
i really hate to make people look like theyre doing things the hard way, but did you know that if you tape the parking switch wire to a metal part of the structure of the actual casing of the stereo, this eliminates this function because it has created a ground? No? i did it and it works, use duct tape for strength, as mine came off!!
@adamidus Its different from radio brand to radio brand. Kenwoods if you just solder the parking brake to the ground its ok. Clarions you have to activate the parking brake after the radio is on. So if I was dumb enough to DUCT TAPE a wire to my radio it would do nothing. DUCT TAPE is conductive and could short circuit something. So I suggest that you take that off and do it the right way by SOLDERING it to your ground connection.
@Gtracer009 Oh dear im so very sorry, i have installed no end of these with INSULATED duct tape, with no issues, its FAT yanks like you that read something on here and are like "right i have to deal with that" WORLD POLICE!!!!!!! fuck yeah!!!!!

I connected relay to amp wire but the amp wire kicks on the relay but that doesn't work. You need it to be grounded when radio boots then needs to unground and then reground.
@Gtracer009- you will no longer need a toggle switch. A relay will be used to control the ground circuit to the ebrake safety circuit. Controlled by the antenna trigger, the relay will remove ground from the circuit when listening to the tuner. When switched to DVD mode, antenna circuit deenergizes the relay which switches ground to the Ebrake circuit thereby tricking the unit into thinking the ebrake has been depressed. Works automatically- no manual switching at all.
If you're capable of wiring a toggle switch to bypass your ebrake safety circuit, u should be MORE than capable enough to wire a bosch 5 pin relay to provide ground to the ebrake safety circuit using the antenna lead of the radio. 4 simple connections to the relay (2grounds, antenna trigger, brake bypass wire). This is a more professional way of automatically getting around the ebrake safety circuit. If you need any help with the wiring, let me know and i'll explain how to wire it up.
@jjuradojr1 So does that eliminate the need to toggle the switch multipliable times? I tried just directly connecting the e-brake wire to the common ground. That did not work, that is why I installed the switch.
@Gtracer009 - YES- this eliminates the toggle switch. The relay itself becomes the switch that activates the ground circuit to the parking brake wire - to turn off the safety feature.

i have one and luv it bt the only thing i dnt like is how when u hav an ipod hooked up to it when u pick a song and then go back its starts back to the very beginning of the playlist
@Gtracer009 uhm... the addon = a freaking 20 dollar ipod cable. or 34 dollar for the video one. It plugs into the usb jack. or USB/RCA's for video. With that if you can get to the back of the deck which obviously after what you did you can. And you know how to plug in a usb cable it shouldn't be hard. btw you can also ues the bluetooth for iphone video but it sounds like crap.

I dont know if anyone knew but you can have the tv playing while driving you dont need a switch just hook up the pink wire to the ground and you dont need a switch and dont need a bypass code I had 3 screens and all of them work by hooking up the pink wire to the ground. Jensen uv8 Jensen uv9 Jensen uv10 all work like that no bypass code and no switches.

If you're capable of wiring a toggle switch to bypass your ebrake safety circuit, u should be MORE than capable enough to wire a bosch 5 pin relay to provide ground to the ebrake safety circuit using the antenna lead of the radio. 4 simple connections to the relay (2grounds, antenna trigger, brake bypass wire). This is a more professional way of automatically getting around the ebrake safety circuit. If you need any help with the wiring, let me know and i'll explain how to wire it up.
