I would applaud the Gurkha for their bravery, but am unsure of whether HK (today) should recognize their services.

1. The Gurkha served under British army, which is technically helping an unwanted occupier to rule over ethnic Chinese lands

2. They were sent to the boarder during 1949 to prevent possible invasion by Chinese people... preventing a possible unification of China and HK

3. During the famine of the 60s they prevented illegal immigrants (starving Chinese people) from entering

Gurkha was PUT on the front line during the Falklands war between Argentina and Britain. Gurkha has always been known for their bravery and loyalty.

Gurkha still have job in UK after 1997 , call Royal Gurkha Rifle , but Hong Kong chinese Enlisted personal the " Hong Kong Military Service Corp " were given up by UK !!

Gurkha in Hong Kong have been forgotten by British authorities. They had been treated unfairly and discriminated by the British government after they'd served and paid their lives for Britain. Until recently their welfare have been slightly improved after a long battle of protect only, when it was led by an English actress who claimed her father was saved by Gurkha in a war. The people, and the present government of Hong Kong dose not own Gurkha anything, but the British government dose.
