I have the same hair strenghtener (got it at Sally's), and I love it!

No problems whatsoever with it in the 3 years that I own it. Heating time is like 60 sec. Works wonderful.

I saw the CHI one in the black friday add for $75, the same I paid for mine from Genetic Value etc. But I don't have plans to replace it!

Be careful to use oil in your hair before heat, becuse the oil get hot from the flat eiron and burn your hair, just a tip ;)

the only part tht sux for me wen curling with a straightening iron is tht sometimes a littler bit of the hair will fall out and i end up with little straight pieces that are hard to curl cuz they end up frizzing
