  • Pilots are always complimentary, I had nice comments for the arsehole who took dorections to land downwind corsswind at Myrtle Beach in an Embraer...sucked.

  • Full flap take-off, hope he/she doesn't have an engine failure.....that could get ugly.

  • @mrpilot102 ugly right back onto the water, you moron.

  • @b1cc2 what the hell are you talking about, do you even know?

  • @mrpilot102 What am I talking about? I was calling you stupid because of your stupid remark, dumbass. You're the useless know it all here, don't pin that on me. There are plenty of aircraft that can climb with full flaps, and I wouldn't be concerned about losing an engine in a twin otter on floats five feet over the water, like they were in this video. Are you even a pilot?

  • @b1cc2 Hmmm am I a pilot? Well does the 4 years I spent flying for MAT count? "There are plenty of aircraft that can climb with full flaps" Not the Twin-otter loaded, and on top of that Maldives temperatures I'll tell you that much. The Twin Otter flaps are VERY slow to come up so if you did lose an engine and try and climb out you'd be fighting a losing battle. Your ONLY option is to chop the power immediately before it starts it brutal yaw and hope you can land it straight...cont:

  • @mrpilot102 So I guess you're not a pilot. I wouldn't be afraid of losing an engine five feet over the water in a HELICOPTER if it had floats like the twotter above does. You also don't have a clue what VMC is, otherwise you'd describe what you tried to say above that way. Now, off to google you go before you reply..."OF COURSE I KNOW WHAT THAT IS"...

  • @b1cc2 blah blah blah go fly the Twin otter in real life not just on your computer games and see what happens..You lose an engine and come back down into massive swell you are not going to have floats attached..People like you who have never flown the plane and then act like they know what they are talking about are laughable..Just stop now before you make your self look even more ridiculous...

  • @mrpilot102 I haven't made myself look rediculous at all, dumbass. you make yourself look more and more like a complete moron. The latest was when you claimed that a twotter at flying speed, with one engine down and one maxed out at five feet of altitude would not be able to land and keep the floats attached? I only hold land ratings, but I know you're a jackass. Keep braying, donkey.

  • @b1cc2 oh wow you have a land rating, I highly apologize and take back everything I said. Of course with a land rating that will teach you everything you need to know about A) Twin-Otters B) Float flying in some of the most difficult monsoon conditions. Once again my most sincere apologies. You should go down to the Maldives I'm sure the training department could use some one of your caliber.

  • @mrpilot102 I said land RATINGS. If I'm ever ready to take a giant leap backwards down the scale of progression to fly twotters, I'll give you a call. One not need any sea ratings to know you have no clue what you're talking about.

  • @b1cc2 I'd have to agree with mrpilot102

  • @b1cc2 and @mrpilot102 I'll have you know I landed a Twotter on floats with a 15 knot tailwind on top of an open avocado truck... didn't squash a single one.

  • @kewlmynd99 uh huh, impressive.

  • @b1cc2 MAT has had numerous incidences and two serious accidents all because of people doing stupid things. So because b1cc2 says "hey this is fine" should they keep doing dangerous practices? Most people who use full flaps like this have never really thought about it and learned by "monkey see, monkey do". Thank you for your wisdom I will surely use your ideas on my next trip...I'm flying it on Wheel skis at the moment....should I go full flap as well?

  • @mrpilot102 So at what point did you decide that I was trying to regulate the actions of company pilots? If you're going to argue, stick with the factual.

  • @b1cc2 cont: The only time people ever use the full 37.5Degrees of flap is if it is very rough...have fun coming down in that out of control and more than likely yawing. More than one of us simulated the scenario at a safe alt and determined that 27-28 degrees of flap was about the max you could safely get away with...oh and BTW that is MORE than enough flap to get you off the water quick. Even then you are risking trouble if someone rats you out for using more than 20Degrees. Bye flight simmer

  • @b1cc2 Oh I see you are a flight Sim warrior, could have figured that I guess.

  • Used to be a Canadian operation...I think it is government owned now.

  • @BushWomanOtter Danish owned.

  • v1= 20knts

  • fcuk, gotta be kiddin´!!!

  • Eat your heart out!

Now that's a badass floatplane takeoff!

  • I've taken a twin otter off several times from Masset Inlet in similar conditions, fairly light in a - 100 and probably got airborne in the same distance. The difference was in my case that there was a pretty good swell running as it was a NW wind at about 30kts. Also used full flap (37.5) which it looks like this Borek pilot was using as well. Very impressive aircraft!

  • Whoops. Meant to say other vids from kuredu

  • Always fun. Any good vids from kuredu? I have one from lily beach when it was blowing 35kts that I should post

  • How do I get a job with these guys? - I've just finished my ATPL's..

  • serious spray damage!? that is unreal.... she must have been empty!

  • Yes, I looked at this several times but do not see any passengers...

  • @panda2040 probably not as the rpm's were down when that spray hit.

  • shame there is no sound.

  • One of the best DHC-6 videos! Wow! A 12,000 lb aircraft taking off from water in less than a hundred feet! Nice!

  • I remember that day:o)

  • AHH YES!

  • Talk about STOL!

  • make that super short STOL!

  • yeah it most of been some crazy headwind
