The best place to view the marching is at Uppermill, which is the venue on the opening shots. My daughter has played in this many times and won prizes with Rochdale Borough Youth. Sorry Duncan, I don't recognise any of the bands, but you have put a good film together and I really enjoyed it. If you're playing this year, we'll be looking out for you at Uppermill. Thanks.
im sorry to disagree but i think greenfield is better its a quieter than uppermill, and where the bands play their performance piece is right next to a cricket ground and on whit friday every year you get two local teams playing a rivalry game, which is always very good. truth be told im from greenfield so im bound to think its best
One of the best marching parades in the world on a par with the 12th of July in Belfast. This event is a must see for anyone with an intrest in marching bands.
Oh the memories. Still both those villages are killers for the Bass's. So many pubs and so little drinking Time a true tragedy to a Bass section. Still one of the best Brass Band Social events WORLD wide.
the last band were the best. They remind me of when I ws a child in Mossley and on Whit Friday morning all the bands could be heard tuning up for the day's walks. Such happy memories. Pleased to see the bands stil have their contests.
