Correct me if I'm wrong about the 3 way revenue sharing you're referring to but (copied from youtube help articles):

"There is a two-way revenue share on ads shown in embeds; only YouTube and the video owner will share in the revenue."

To find this page, type "embedded video ads youtube revenue share" without quotes in google. Should be the first result.

How come ALL my youtube partner earnings are under "adsense for content host" and never any info is in "youtube"? I never get any earnings in the youtube section. Is youtube not paying me what I should get?

@ByeByeBelly That means you're not earning much for your video traffic itself. Just as I described here, most of your traffic (like me) is coming from others embedding your vids and you're earning from those ads. I don't earn a lot in the "YouTube" section either. Different niches pay different amounts.

e.g.: Do I need to be a Youtub partner?...I have an adsense account, is that enough? Is there anything special I have to down when embeding these videos to associate the clicks to me? etc...

@cashvo You only need an adsense account. So let's say you embedded on one of my vids into your website and someone clicks the ad within the video. The income from the click is split 3 ways between me, you and YouTube/Google

I still don't quite understand... When I go on AdSense, what are the names of all the different ad units? Because I've got "Hosted adsense for content", "adsense for content" and a whole bunch of other junk that just goes waayyyy over my head haha. So much for ad optimisation when you have no clue which one to optimise!

@hairyfrankfurt Adsense for content are ads found on your website. Adsense for hosted content are ads found on your YouTube partner channel/video pages (if you have one) and on webpages where your videos are posted. Yes, it is overwhelming, but all this information is readily available in Google Adsense's help section. A few days of reading and a few days of optimization would create good result, otherwise these ad programs are not for you.

Glad you figured out how to see how much you are earning from YouTube! I just wish that adsense and youtube would work a lot better so I can track how much each video and channel makes individually. Now that would be awesome...no reason they can't do it.

@0TyMoss0 Thx Ty, yeah the AdSense reporting has always been confusing. I realize they are vague on a lot of things for a reason (fraud, etc.), but it's annoying when you're trying to track your earnings. Ugh! :)

@lisa3876 I noticed the same thing Lisa. On my blog i show a number of YouTube videos and i started noticing this extra income that didn't match up with my banner ad clicks, and it was then that i found out about the three-way split.

So yes partners; it benefits you to allow bloggers like me to embed your videos on our sites, its extra revenue with no effort on your part - and its another way for us to show our support.

If i like a partner, i'll embed them :)

This isnt completely true. Adsense for Content Host shows all text and Google based ad revenue (text and some Flash ads). This counts for videos on YouTube and on embeds. The YouTube category in Adsense shows view based and doubleclick ads. These are ads that ar preroles and any other flash ads that dont have the "ads by google" on them. Double Click =YouTube / Google Ads = Adsense for Content Host

If you could point us all to a better explanation online that I can reference and link to in the description that would be awesome because the Partner FAQ page was the only place I found that made this someone clear. It didn't mention anything about additional ad revenue.
