  • It is not known when the Druidic priesthood was formed. I think there has been a lot of messing around with terms like ''Celtic'' which has confused our history. The Keltoi and the Britons were two separate people, and the Hallstatt and La Tene culture spread through Europe by influence and trade rather than migration. According to Ceaser, the Druids originated in Britain and introduced the priesthood to Gaul rather than the other way around, so who really knows how far back Druidism goes?

  • @PaganWarrior100 Agreed, but Caesar is not known for being accurate in his info. Many doubt the authenticity of the 'Gallic Wars' (I'm one of them), but unfortunately, we have little else for info.

Druidry certainly is Shamanic, and Shamanism is the oldest known religion in the world.

What is interesting to me is that the great Greek philosophers - Aristotle, Plato, and Socrates - were taught by Druids, and often invited Druids to speak in their academies.
