Leaching is medically shown to help people. So that part (and maybe a few others) have medical backing.

Except their use of leeching has no real backing in science (medicinal leeches being only really useful for the anticoagulants in their saliva). Leeching does not help eczema in the least; most modern countries that allow it only really use it to promote bloodflow in graft tissue. Once hirudin can be manufactured in the lab efficiently, leeches won't be needed.

So, at the end of it you still have the ayurvedic woo woo batting a thousand.
