  • One question, will rfactor 2 be available for windows 7? I bought rfactor 1 and can't play it on my computer.

  • @Juanlox123 Both rF1 and rF2 should work on Windows 7. If you're having trouble with rF1 running on Windows 7 you should ask in our forum, or email support.

  • @Juanlox123 I can play my rfactor 1 game in win 7 with any problem, check the forum!

  • i don't know anything about this... game?

but will it be out for 360 ??

  • @TimmermanE PC only

  • Isn't the tyre deformation a bit exaggerated?

  • @SmellySpick It depends how many times you've seen slow-motion of cars leaping into the air and coming down to the track without damage turned on in real life. :) There are videos of real tires doing just about everything you're seeing, but we're also doing some pretty extreme things to these tires.

  • Damit now i gotta buy a new wheel! thanks! :)

  • ill play this game only if the multiplayer is good. why would i play a game that only has good single player... booooring.

  • i think this is a game for people like me who get turned on seeing a race track and a race car :)

  • Unless they loaded the car with massively low tyre pressures it all seems a bit OTT and cartoony. A tyre correctly pressurised just does not deform like that.

  • @Pierre61 Unless you are really beating on it!

  • @Pierre61 My guess would be they lowered the tyre pressure to show the physics of the tyres and their deformation, seems how the entire video was almost 5 minutes of tyre shots

  • @mrfastreaction Lol I thought the same!

  • Ok, so the tires look nice... What else is new??

P.S. The tyres on that Megane are too slim to be deformed like that... ;)

  • I'm LOVIN this song! What's it called :P?!!

  • @undeny Estrum - Abiosis

  • how's the damage physics?

  • Will I be able to buy the retail version?

  • @TheTerminator248 The purchase that is made during the beta will become the retail version. You're not buying it twice.

  • @ImageSpaceInc I mean like I could go to the store and buy a PHYSICAL copy, that's what I meant.

  • @TheTerminator248 Not yet, no. Eventually - possibly. As with rF1 we probably won't do a DVD image until a patch or so after the first non-beta release.

  • Is kinda sad that a game as rFactor 2 ask C2D to run...

  • orgasmic realism...

  • wow looks like big fun ;D

but i don't agree to pay every month, so i stay at Live for Speed ;)

  • @RDrizzleFoShizzle Who is paying every month? We don't charge every month.

  • @ImageSpaceInc I've red on a page of gamestar,

that if you want to play for one month, you have to pay 20 $.

For one year 156 $ and you have only 2 cars with 7 tracks. You can buy many addons which cost 15 - 25 $. This sounds for me very expensive. ;D

  • @RDrizzleFoShizzle You're probably talking about a different company and a different product. Most likely iRacing? That's not us, that's not our pricing. As I said, we don't charge that. Our product is called rFactor 2 and doesn't have that pricing, no matter where you read it.

  • @ImageSpaceInc ahhhh now i see my mistake. I had two tabs opened and the other one was a video of iracing. I posted under the wrong video. ;D

Sorry. Do you know the video Live for speed Slowmotion 2 ??

In it's way it is similar to yours. I like them both ;D

  • @RDrizzleFoShizzle Yeah the guys did an awesome job with LFS. :) Hopefully with all the other dynamic stuff we have going on like the track, weather, lighting and the tires (we're not finished with them yet) it'll set us apart a bit, but will take time until we're out of beta.

  • Technically superb, but I really hope you get that in-car feel. Remember we play this sitting on a chair infront of a 2 dimensional screen.

First and formost, the game needs to be exhilarating. This can be acheived without perfect physics, as per arcade racers.

I remember playing on Sports Car GT ( a predecessor by Image space), and having that stomach drop feeling when going over a crest of a hill. More of that please.

  • Better than Forza's 'Tire Deformation'.

  • @ChinatownWieners And? At least Forza has tyre deformation while GT5 doesn't even simulate tyre pressure.

  • @S474N5R3V3R3NC3 However, Forza's tracks are flat and inaccurate. Look at Le mans for example and compare the two.

  • Tyre physics is what effects the driving = tyres changing shape = dynamic road contact area more realistic. The tyres wear in diferent spots over distance depending how you drive.

  • tire "physics"? so pointless... can't even see that shit in a race. Wasting time on stupid things.

  • @orangedrink Just because you can't see it doesn't mean that it doesn't do anything. Look at aerodynamics for instance. We can't see the air travelling over the surface area of the bodywork, but when pushed over aeroparts you gain or lose downforce (speed/handling). Tyre deformation is the same thing, stiffer sidewalls makes the car lose traction faster while accelerating or braking, softer sidewalls help with traction by giving more rubber to transfer weight onto the track.

  • i think ISI are focusing o a lot of seemingly minor, unnoticeable details because they are also trying to create a product that appeals to modders as well as people who solely want the driving experience, hence why the high poly count etc is in there, its a significant addition to those who make mods and skins etc

  • besides, @2:19 the car is powersliding and the tyre still deforms outward, like the floor isn't applying lateral force to it.

  • @GraveUypo True, but can we just be happy tire physics are finally being shown!

  • Why do the front wheels stop when both are in the air? Are the brakes on?

Otherwise I would think there would still be energy moving the wheels forwards...

  • The tires look like they are balloons no sense for the thickness of the walls. Maybe the deformation is a little overdone.

  • @Merto6 yeah seems exactly the same to me, but the tyres might be underpressured.

Especially formula tyres seems to be very very soft. Let's see real life slo-mo onboards somewhere...

  • How much cars will have full version of rFactor2 ??? And what brands? some Audi, BMW, Ferrari etc?? it would be nice to drive some realistic cars :)

  • In 2012 and still have the cardboard cut out crowd

  • @xjelo93 This is a Racing Sim , aimed at simulating the feeling of driving a race car. Waste resources and cpu processing in 3d animated people would not help. The truth is, anyone who cares for the driving experience, wouldn´t bother for crowds...

  • @mrturismo It was a joke bro! Calm down. And to be honest, all this shit with graphics pisses me off, this is a 4 minute video of tires, holy shit!, amazing! I just want the game to feel somewhat real. I could care less if it looks like the real thing, there is my honest opinion on this whole subject :)

  • @xjelo93 No probs =)

  • @xjelo93 oh so i'm not the only one.

i don't care about tyres flexing visually, as long as the flexing is simulated in the physics calculations.

who the hell even notices this kind of shit during a race?

  • @GraveUypo They are trying so hard to make this game look pretty. As long as the game can transistion from night to dark, and have random weather for endurance racing, and have the low settings like rFactor where lower end PCs can run them, id be happy.

  • @xjelo93 i know, but im saying they've focusing on the wrong things. you can't really see that in a race at all. meanwhile, i noticed (without effort) that cars could use higher poly count. didn't mention it because i don't care as long as the driving feels right

  • @GraveUypo Have you even read about this? The visuals are taken all directly from live reference data generated in real-time such as air pressure, temp, all that crap. It's probably one of the most sophisticated tire models in any game to date.

  • @xjelo93 It's better now. They fake the 3d by having the crowd's perspective shift based on your position.

  • to be honest, as long as it feels realistic tire deformation graphics doesnt mean anything tome

  • I have rfacter but havent played it in 2 years because of the fact I could never use a nascar mod and jump into nascar races. Simply doesnt have the community that iracing/nr series has. Yea I did league racing over at the pits but 10 people on a lucky night and being fastest one there every week left much to desire. Now road course racing has challenges, in fixed series i'm tops but icant make road course setups lol

  • Las físicas son una verdadera mierda, o por lo menos del Megane..

  • tires? so what? suspension? toe angle? fine.. just a game

  • Very good!!

  • Now make the beta free and only charge when version 1.0 comes out and I'll be convinced...

  • @blainyrules A demo will be free, feel free to wait for it. :)

  • @ImageSpaceInc Nice, do you know when it'll be released and with what mod(s)?

  • @ImageSpaceInc I'm gonna wait for the demo myself. rF2 is looking very good though. :)

  • @blainyrules The pre-purchase beta helps fund their development...many different games are going this route such as Tribes:Ascend. For a sim of this quality, I'll gladly pay up front for development. I've gotten gazillions of hours out of rFactor. This looks to be even better as far as modding capability. Kudos to the devs!

  • So, I'll spend all day bouncing around to see the tires squish??!!

And the sand is still a flat surface... sad thing!

  • Looking forward to this

  • This song sounds like it's from a defunct band Amaran.

  • Comment removed

  • I play rfactor for the realism not the looks but it would be nice if more work was done on the shading/shadows etc, Im still looking forward to 2 but it still looks very dated at this stage.

  • @DeineFails The deformation simulation is totally meaningless if the grip and sound level associated with it are not faithfully represented in the feedback and the physical feel through the Wheel.

Rolling radius changes due to deformation mean that the brakes should also reflect this change as should the sound. here's hoping.

  • I really don't care what the tire looks like. I drive in the cockpit :) BUT it has GOT to feel right and exhibit the appropriate amount of increased and decreased grip based on physical "G" load and deformation and damping effects of the suspension.

As an ex race Driver and Mechanic, the most important things that could ever be reproduced in ANY race Simulation is proper sound co-relationship to tire grip and slip and the feel given through the Steering Wheel.

  • @mozzmann Good to see someone that knows what he is talking about.

Not necessarily related, but you really need some kind of feedback for applying "human" ABS when applying breaks, loose of grip on the wheels, or things like that. I totally agree with your point.

  • looks a bit too flat sometimes

  • Gawd what a rubbish song.

Mute it and open this to listen to instead

Queen - I'm in Love With My Car

Pity its too short for the video. Its the only song worthy of slow mo racing cars!

  • YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH WOO HOO!! TODAY IS THE DAY!!!!

  • i need pay 43.99$

  • The shadow needs more work.

  • Nice. Very nice indeed. This title looks better everyday.

  • I liked the part where a frigging formula car drove on 2 wheels.......

  • is there same look to sounds than in rf1? or more realistic?

  • Tires should move in 4 ways, not 2,but even that is better than nothing!

  • Amazing !

  • If damage model is like tyre model, i would love that :D

Btw. In rFactor Damage Model was like tyre deformation model :D

  • Soundtrack?

  • @Senninha2011 Seemed like so to me too, it's almost as if it is TOO rubbery/stiff, even though tires are technically rubber.

  • Wow! Its look amazing! Im looking forward to some crash test and ofcause the game :)

  • OMG!!!!!!!!!!! LOOKS BRILLIANT :)

  • @DeineFails Not so sure because if you look at 6 years old Live for speed videos there had been pretty good tire physics and now its being reworked to even better

  • i need that ... iam waiting for 2 years

  • rFactor 2 World Series Mod Available now !

  • @FDuct Where ?

  • @DeineFails

Really? And where is the tire slip angle simulation....?

We can only hope that it's there in the calculations, and only the visual appearance is missing...

  • name of the song?

qual o nome da musica ?

  • @vicpruner at the end of the video you can see the name artist.

  • Where is the smoke?

  • Comment removed

  • ok so rfactor 2 will be based on tire deformation and everything about tires. looks like we need to wait for rfactor 3.....

  • We've waited literally years ... for this. Really? Looks much the same as rF1 vids I have seen. C.A.R.S. beta is outclassing rF2 on looks already, so I fear ISI have just taken too long to get rFactor2 together, and I haven't even seen a release date yet. I hope that all the hype is true because I have loved rfactor. If it really does re-define what an accurate physics model on a PC racing game can do then that's great .... but squidgy tyres don't mean that. Time for ISI to deliver!

  • lindo de mais

  • TYRE PRESSURES AND CAR SET UP WILL BE THE KEY

IRACING PPL WILL BE BACK IN DROVES AND IN ORE OF RFACTOR2

    AND ITS NEW FEATURES

  • WE NOW KNOW WHO IS PRODUCING THE BEST SIM RFACTOR IRACING GONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

    RF2 ALL THE WAY

  • Music?

  • Of course you receieve the full game for that price. You buy the game ONCE and that gets you access to the open beta

  • those tires need some air

  • Comment removed

  • Need more shadow

  • Wow, looks impressive!! Cant wait to have a go! Really hope they add realistic smoke and skidmarks before the final build! GT5 has a VERY nice implementation of smoke and skids, hope they peak at that.

  • Fail fuck

  • seems that the tyres model is working, but at 2.28 shadow fail!

  • Comment removed

  • Fap-fap-fap! And seperate fap for the music! It's great!

  • can you guys make a video with the tire wear and skids on? would show the full potential of tire graphics

  • Game looks great. Payment structure looks like hell.

  • The game must be awesome but graphics is really bad

  • what happens when a road/weaker tyre hits hard in something sharp? does it go flat?

  • Shouldn't the exhausts on the FR3.5 join into a single pipe?

  • The tire flexing.. OMG.. I just jizzed on myself

  • @Crypteass Something LFS has had for years ? :P :D

  • @Crypteass /watch?v=GqjlsDsmukU&feature=related amd keep in mind the date and the fact that this game is 134 Mb

  • @Crypteass LFS had this 2 years ago...

  • @wdowa94 Live for Speed had tyre flex in 2006. Check out LFS slowmotion videos from user liveforspeed2006.

  • @wdowa94 You are short on that, lfs have tire deformation sinse the s2 patch back in 2006

  • @Crypteass You need a girlfriend

  • It's a beta vid. Cut em some slack. I love the tire modeling in this game. It actually looks like there are real tires on the cars in the way they behave and especially the contact patch, Looks like there is more than an centimeter of contact. lol

  • Still not enough shadow under the cars. Grey shadows lol

This is just another codemasters fail, u need more shadow under the cars, and I mean BLACK shadows not grey. Look at that historic f1 car, looks like its floating in the air.

  • @slmazadza This game ain't developed by Codemasters.

  • @XLStress who said it was developed by codemasters lol

  • @slmazadza You?

  • @slmazadza Have u seen any BLACK shadows irl?

  • @slmazadza

    i just lol at this.....

  • @slmazadza

at you and your fails btw...

  • @slmazadza This is a sim. It's not made by Codemasters and you're a fail.

  • I have been waiting for rFactor 2 since 2009 :D

  • At 3:08, it's rFactor 2 or the new Flight Simulator ? ^^

  • Is it confirmed that you can use 900 Degrees steering on a G25? If so I might actually get this game.

  • @jjfan4824 The G25, G27 and DFGT were confirmed as supported...so you'll surely be able to use 900 Degrees. The Beta will come out in the first weeks of January at 43 USD. Just buy it for a test. If it doesn't work they are very open to refunding. So no risk in buying it...it's gonna be great!

  • @cruncher2 If ISI can confirm about the refund I might actually try it.. but if I pay the 43 USD to BETA test it.. do I own a copy of RF2 or do I have to pay again? If that is the case I won't even try it.

  • @jjfan4824 It's considered pre ordering...so you'll get the full game later. about that refund: go to google, type "RF2 Pricing and related Open Beta information" click the first link (isi forums...).

  • @jjfan4824 If you buy the rF2 beta you get rF2 full.

  • A bit concerned about the suspension on the FR3.5. It isn't rotating about the mounting points.

Hopefully they've got the its physics right, Hopefully double or infinitely stiff roll preload is possible.

  • Any release date yet? Or perhaps thoughts of release date? :-)

  • @ImageSpaceInc @blingadude Will the gravel traps and dirt courses (if included) have individual particles like other developers will be/ have implemented instead of a texture will a dust effect coming off of the wheels when in a given zone?

  • This deserves a wank

  • Great job, ISI. I can't wait for the release!!

A question tho...will you guys be making use of any advanced particle system(s) in RF2, in regards to things like gravel traps and grass? EG: When a car goes through them, will bits of material be thrown into the air? Or could we even see hunks of gathered-up 'marbles' come flying off a tire during a race, like we see in real life?

  • Comment removed

  • The cars seem a bit too rigid to me. The spoilers do not shake etc. But it is still in pre-beta, so I understand. But will it be implemented? (not that I am not going to buy the game if it's not XD)

  • how is the song called???

  • @poliki100 Abiosis - Estrum

  • @DracoBellic Thank you :)

  • osbourne?

  • Tires deform in 3 dimensions, this visual effect of the deformation is lacking two of 'em.

Do it right or leave it

  • It was recorded in replay(still in dev), sadly thays why no sparks, smoke etc. effects. Ingame those are working.

  • ISI, please make the car reflections as high as possible... I only seen it in 0:06 - 0:09 but other than that there are no reflections visible.. Please.

  • Am i the only one that didn't notice sparks from the Formula or Tire smoke from the lockup, not even a little?

Still somewhat early but as i don't have much of either in iRacing from the NTM, is ISI gonna include that stuff?

  • Now a question to ISI, When you show me something like 2:18 What are you trying to say?

  • Well whoever is Driving will have a Drive through Penalty for sure ;)

  • A-ma-zing!!

Can't wait to get my hands on the beta, i'm so excited!!

  • shadow bug at 4:13 haha, but i luv this no matter what o/

  • @ShdwKn nice :D

  • Song Name?

  • 3d models and textures are very good, but the lightning is strange. In some parts of this video (3:38 is one of them), the trees are even darker than the shadow under car. I think its because of HDR which is not (my opinion) working realisticly. I noticed it also in your previous video (Monaco onboard) - in 1:38 (in Monaco video!) the trees become too dark (they are nearly black but some things are still the same) but when you turn into the right corner they suddenly light up like on a Christmas

  • Maybe you wanted to simulate blinding by the sun, but it looks like it darkens even if you actually dont look straight to the sun (3:10 or 3:38 in this video). It really needs some polishing on those HDR effects.

  • Just WOW!!

Later after release (new mods, updates) this will be a lot of fun for another 5 years ;o)

And about iRacing... I love it the same like rF, LFS or upcoming project c.a.r.s. All titles are in progress and we can looking forward for great stuffs with all products.. I can't wait for HistorX or WSGT or any other mod for RF2!
