You have to read the book to get the whole picture.  It is so sad. Both for the woman involved, and the animals. I was crying after reading it. Her disorder began when she was a child and was rescued from her sexually abusing grandfather by her two dogs. Her grandfather later conspired with her abusive father and "sold" the dogs who kept her safe. She was only six years old at the time. Soooo sooo sad. So hard to read about the whole situation.

Isn't the crazy owner bothered by their annoying barkings in the house? How can animal hoarders live like normal everyday with air full of ammonia and floor encrusted with inches thick of feces? Nasty! The owners should be put to sleep! The world has no need for them.

@watchensee A lot of humans get away with "mentally illness" condition for what they did, because of the legal system is relaxed with "mentally ill people". But I believe many mentally ill people do have the conscience of knowing the differences between kindness and evil, love and fear. It's not a matter of mental illness alone, it's a matter of the system and the matter of the human heart. I hope there will be stronger enforcement for for these who mistreat animals.

I can understand wanting to rescue the animals, but sometimes that means letting go so that someone can give them proper care and attention. The animals deserve so much better. I hope they all have loving homes now.

This is SO CRUEL?! How can someone think it's OK to have so many dogs in one little confined space?? These people should be placed in mental institutions..And that it gets to the severity that it does is BS...There ARE laws to the number of pets per home like this in TX why not here?
