How does a disc plow compare to a rototiller? Do they do the same job? The reason I'm asking is because I am looking to start my first food plot next spring for deer hunting and the plot I'm looking to do is only like 1/4 - 1/2 acre big and also what equipment will be better to make a plot that size I'm doing.
A disk uses its weight to force blades into the ground which spin when pulled thus tearing up the ground. If you have a tractor already a disk is the way to go its much quicker. A disk will do a much rougher job than a roto-tiller. To be honest if the ground has never been worked it would be best to use a plow to turn the sod under first.
