I'm so sad about the new Japanese cigarette machines! That's where I got my first cigarettes as a dumb-ass under-age American tourist to Kyoto. Now other tourist youth will be denied the same sweet, sweet experience of illegal cigarettes.
(Also, for those planning to vacation in Japan who are 18 or 19, the smoking age in Japan is 20, so bring your own)
Have to be 18 to buy cigarettes in the UK now. Think you live in Portugal, so not sure if you've heard or not. Only been about 2 months since it came into place. A good idea me thinks.
