@Gab8124 The reason why people probably say that you aren't educated is because Latin is often used in mathematics, astronomy, chemistry, biology, and law, mostly for the purposes of nomenclature. It's also the language that English speakers use when creating new words for the English language. Another possible reason is that Latin, before it was replaced by Italian, was taught mainly to people of high standing or "the sophisticates". But now, its mostly the enthusiasts like me who learn Latin.

After all they considered any other language besides their , as a barbaric ( barbarian).Of cource many actually knew latin as any of the nations who were under the roman possession this period. In contrary , There were the Romans and entire the eastern nations ( becausy of Alexander the Great ) who spoke greek. One example of that is that all the first christian gospels and generally the texts were written in greek.

It only sucks if you don't know your history. This is old Latin where most of our medical and legal terms came from, even in math or the English language root word are mostly old Latin. Ex: Itis is inflamation as in medical terms dactylitis meaning inflamation of the fingers or toes, appendicitis inflamation of the appendix, bursitis inflamation of the bursa, tonsilitis inflamation of the tonsils, so on and so forth. You need to have a brain to study this language. It is not spanish.
