@XFavioxXx ok fisrt to get him warm if u have a flatbed truck let him out there and for water take a water bottle and poke a hole in at top and let it drip or squeez into his mouth kinda like rain and for food try green beens,grass,kale,greens,tamatos,anything realy but if u dont have a truckntake a normal lamp and lean it on his cage and he will fell the heat and go bye is but becare and try to keep it away from flamable stuff ok

Whoa that guy is aggressive!I don't have a male but I've found that iguanas have blind spots on their body. One is around their ribs, at the base of their tale where the tail meets the pelvis, and the most useful, the one under their dewlaps. Whenever my ig starts to act up and tries to bite I put my fore finger under the dewlap and she calms down when she figures out that she is unable to attack me. This may seem like a suicide attempt on part of your fingers but it's worked for many ig owners.
You look like an excellent keeper, but your clearly scared of Woody. He KNOWS IT! And he is using that to his advantage. If woody acts up like that, a little warm water goes a long way.. Buy a garden mist spray bottle with pure clean water (every reptile owner should have one anyway) fill it with steaming hot water (don't worry when it comes out to a mist it cools INSTANTLY its almost freezing if you use cold water and that could cause shock) and just mist him down, most important DONT MOVE

@B4dConn3ction nope but they do like a hidebox to sleep in i use shelves and hideboxes check out my habiat video u'll see i use whole rooms for mine and they love it! u just have to make sure to use the right lighting and temps and foods too
@Bigbuchunter77 yea most people wouldn't but i do rescue so we take in what others dont want but he couldn't help it he never asked to be taken from the wild to be made someone pet but its what happens when people get things they don't research first and its the animals who suffer but me and him got to be good friend before he died this year :)

@geckosandreps1 well he's a rescued ig and i'm a foster home in a non-profit iguana rescue/education group so i couldn't sell him and we actually became friends in the last couple years, check out the woody update videos, he got tumors and was on pain management for over a year he died in his sleep afew months back after letting me care for him and he was a great iguana he couldn't help it he just didn't want to be a pet he wanted to be a wild ig

@corycmelvin you can learn even more reading about their diet, good foods & plants and which are not good or poisonous at anapsid,org & at greenigsociety,org and print out their food chart too cause they need a wide variety of fresh foods everyday but u have to mix & match foods to keep a 2:1 ratio of cal to phos. plus check out my video on nutribac df that helps them digest & gets rid of salmonella and the megaray combo lighting & meters i use for mine it makes them much healthier :)
@mando3dallas cause its not his fault hes a rescue and he never wanted to be a pet plus he was in mating season so many males get pretty aggressive during that time and cause all he wanted to do is chase me out of his territory like a wild male would do, later when he got tumors and then i had him fixed he mellowed down and let me care for him without the aggression, check out the woody update videos 16 of them he died in his sleep a few months ago
@buricuaPR their not bad lizards to have they are just very high matinance and complex personalities to keep right from lighting, heating, diet, space, vet care and training they are more a lifestyle then just a pet so you'd need to read tons of info before getting one and expect to spend up to $1500 a yr on the care of 1 iguana if they get sick double that on vet bills, they import 750,000 babys a yr and 98% die young cause people have no idea what they are getting into buying an iguana

@dalemanning1986 yea it takes months to a yr to gain their trust cause people eat iguanas where they come from so it takes time to show them you wont hurt them, make sure he has a hidebox he can fully hide & sleep in to take away stress, if he looks u in the face open & close ur eyes 4 times in a row to show him your relaxed so he should be too, do not stare that is a threat! if he wont look at u then make a kissing action with ur lips they can't do that so it really gets their attention then

@oliviamariaa nope, woody was one ig who didn't want to be a pet and our rescue group took him in to keep we tried to rehab him and train him to be nice but he wouldn't have it so we let him be and just tried to care for him, also when orange they are in mating season so yea then most get very touchy to real aggressive but it usually lasts 2 to 3 months then its over

My iguana greets me the same way as your woody does.... Only he does it when he's on his shelf tho, he's fine once he's on the floor. I'm going to try that idea with the squash too, i've never cooked his, I just use the peeler and shred it up for him.
hey i saw u were using paper plates. Will the iguanas ever try to eat their plate as well as their food, if they do consume the paper plate, will it harm them??
@rugbylife4 yea sometimes i use paper plates or pyrex pie plates they keep the food wetter but yea if they eat a piece of a paper plate it wont hurt them, thats why i also use newspaper cause it would hurt them if they ate a piece

I use a food processor to process the veggies like butternut squash, snow peas, red peppers, etc. Then store in ziploc bags. Woodstock reminds my of my ig. Lovely greeting isn't it? I keep a towel handy for distraction and to toss on top of him to get him fed.

hi binty! i have a trouble with my ig, i think she has MBD because i saw her shacking last night, she has not broken any bone that i know of, and she is on the breeding season and i just adopted her about a month ago, and i dont want to get her to a vet because i dont want to get her super stressed. i just changed the uvb light, she is about 3 years old and she is pretty large over a 3 foot, i want to give her the best treatment againts the mbd so what would you do :)?
@MrMMABoy YES it could kill her, you need to work hard to get her very healthy right now long before egg season around the end of the year or begining of next year, you sould get her bloodwork & an x-ray to see her bones, then order full megaray combo lighting, nutribac df, herptivite, & the calcium reptileuv,com sells with the megaray lights

@anthcybo well yes they are exotic animals who need allot more care then regular pets, also foods in the wild are not sprayed with pestisides either, their wild foods are better then what we have here, a 6 foot lizard needs allot of space like a big dog, in the wild they live up to 30 yrs as a pet usually 98% die in 2 yrs cause people dont know how to care for them, in 21 yrs i've learned the better u keep them the longer they live
@TakerBride777 no that stuff is crap, it might be ok to use if your going out of town for a day and they need something to munch on till u get back home to make up real food, also allot of it is made with too much protein their body can't handle well, also igs need allot of moisture in the air & food or it makes their kidneys work too hard which is one of the main killers of igs

@vandemor this iguana was a rescue and doesn't want to be a pet he was in mating season so he was very aggressive when i made the video. vegetables here are sprayed with pestisdies so this is an all natural wash to get the pestisides off the greens, vegetables. i steam a few hard vegetables and yes his tail broke off years before we got him

Both Lettuce and Spinach are not good choices. Dandelion Greens, Mustard Greens, Collards, and Turnip Greens are better choices.

@geckosandreps1 well he's a rescued ig and i'm a foster home in a non-profit iguana rescue/education group so i couldn't sell him and we actually became friends in the last couple years, check out the woody update videos, he got tumors and was on pain management for over a year he died in his sleep afew months back after letting me care for him and he was a great iguana he couldn't help it he just didn't want to be a pet he wanted to be a wild ig

hi i just a my iguana 2 days ago and the people that had him b4 me did not handdle him at all he is kind of mean he trys to wip me eveytime i try to handdle him he is about 2 years old and anther thing he is not eating verry well he ate fine b4 i got him but now he will not eat. do u think i have any chace of working with him so that he can be nice and let me handle him if so please tell me what i can do i really need help!!!

@corycmelvin you can learn even more reading about their diet, good foods & plants and which are not good or poisonous at anapsid,org & at greenigsociety,org and print out their food chart too cause they need a wide variety of fresh foods everyday but u have to mix & match foods to keep a 2:1 ratio of cal to phos. plus check out my video on nutribac df that helps them digest & gets rid of salmonella and the megaray combo lighting & meters i use for mine it makes them much healthier :)

@mando3dallas cause its not his fault hes a rescue and he never wanted to be a pet plus he was in mating season so many males get pretty aggressive during that time and cause all he wanted to do is chase me out of his territory like a wild male would do, later when he got tumors and then i had him fixed he mellowed down and let me care for him without the aggression, check out the woody update videos 16 of them he died in his sleep a few months ago

@buricuaPR their not bad lizards to have they are just very high matinance and complex personalities to keep right from lighting, heating, diet, space, vet care and training they are more a lifestyle then just a pet so you'd need to read tons of info before getting one and expect to spend up to $1500 a yr on the care of 1 iguana if they get sick double that on vet bills, they import 750,000 babys a yr and 98% die young cause people have no idea what they are getting into buying an iguana

@dalemanning1986 yea it takes months to a yr to gain their trust cause people eat iguanas where they come from so it takes time to show them you wont hurt them, make sure he has a hidebox he can fully hide & sleep in to take away stress, if he looks u in the face open & close ur eyes 4 times in a row to show him your relaxed so he should be too, do not stare that is a threat! if he wont look at u then make a kissing action with ur lips they can't do that so it really gets their attention then

@MrBinty1440 do the eye thing and everytime before u go to pick him up or if he freaks out do the eye thing its a way of talking to them without words also make sure your lighting is right, temps are right & watch my baby feeding video goto greenigsociety,org & print out their food chart to help u learn to make up their diet right you can also let him ride on you while u walk around the house then put him under ur shirt on your shoulder to take a nap on u for a while each day so he relax w. you

@oliviamariaa nope, woody was one ig who didn't want to be a pet and our rescue group took him in to keep we tried to rehab him and train him to be nice but he wouldn't have it so we let him be and just tried to care for him, also when orange they are in mating season so yea then most get very touchy to real aggressive but it usually lasts 2 to 3 months then its over

My iguana greets me the same way as your woody does.... Only he does it when he's on his shelf tho, he's fine once he's on the floor. I'm going to try that idea with the squash too, i've never cooked his, I just use the peeler and shred it up for him.

hey i saw u were using paper plates. Will the iguanas ever try to eat their plate as well as their food, if they do consume the paper plate, will it harm them??

@rugbylife4 yea sometimes i use paper plates or pyrex pie plates they keep the food wetter but yea if they eat a piece of a paper plate it wont hurt them, thats why i also use newspaper cause it would hurt them if they ate a piece

I use a food processor to process the veggies like butternut squash, snow peas, red peppers, etc. Then store in ziploc bags. Woodstock reminds my of my ig. Lovely greeting isn't it? I keep a towel handy for distraction and to toss on top of him to get him fed.

hi binty! i have a trouble with my ig, i think she has MBD because i saw her shacking last night, she has not broken any bone that i know of, and she is on the breeding season and i just adopted her about a month ago, and i dont want to get her to a vet because i dont want to get her super stressed. i just changed the uvb light, she is about 3 years old and she is pretty large over a 3 foot, i want to give her the best treatment againts the mbd so what would you do :)?

@MrMMABoy YES it could kill her, you need to work hard to get her very healthy right now long before egg season around the end of the year or begining of next year, you sould get her bloodwork & an x-ray to see her bones, then order full megaray combo lighting, nutribac df, herptivite, & the calcium reptileuv,com sells with the megaray lights

@MrBinty1440 make sure she has a big hidebox to take away stress, shaking means she is super low on calcium & her body is taking it away from her nerve endings even! make sure her basking temps are right too so she can digest food right u want her to be 98 degrees basking & at night keep her around 85 to 90 give her collards & dandelion greens in her food everyday too

Uh, is it really necessary to pamper them like this? I'm not an iguana expert, but i'm pretty sure fruits and vegetables that grow in the wild are dirty.

@anthcybo well yes they are exotic animals who need allot more care then regular pets, also foods in the wild are not sprayed with pestisides either, their wild foods are better then what we have here, a 6 foot lizard needs allot of space like a big dog, in the wild they live up to 30 yrs as a pet usually 98% die in 2 yrs cause people dont know how to care for them, in 21 yrs i've learned the better u keep them the longer they live

@TakerBride777 no that stuff is crap, it might be ok to use if your going out of town for a day and they need something to munch on till u get back home to make up real food, also allot of it is made with too much protein their body can't handle well, also igs need allot of moisture in the air & food or it makes their kidneys work too hard which is one of the main killers of igs

@vandemor Ciao penso vostra chiedere quanto alimento ho alimentato alle mie iguane? ora ho avuto iguane per oltre 20 anni ed alimento loro tant'alimento come vogliono mangiare. Lo taglio per essere più piccolo allora lo spazio fra i loro occhi in modo da possono inghiottirli giusto ma taro i verdi con le mie barrette perché se utilizzate una lama rende il gusto di verdi amaro.

la mia iguana non è così aggressiva, forse l'allevatore non è così esperto nel maneggiarla, e poi lava la verdura con il detersivo?!? bicarbonato per favore!! e la quantità di cibo è troppa!! infine se avete notato la coda dell'animale è ricresciuta dopo mutilazione.....

@vandemor this iguana was a rescue and doesn't want to be a pet he was in mating season so he was very aggressive when i made the video. vegetables here are sprayed with pestisdies so this is an all natural wash to get the pestisides off the greens, vegetables. i steam a few hard vegetables and yes his tail broke off years before we got him

I love to see someone on youtube that actually knows how to take care of their iguanas! There's so much misinformation here and I really worry for the iguanas of inexperienced owners. This is a great video though!

hes a rescue and didn't want to be anyones pet we took him in and thought he was young and he could be rehabbed but he couldn't so he is one of our sanctuary iguanas and we will care for him the rest of his life, check out the 11 woody update videos on how his life has changed since this video was made
