yeah that happened to mine the only way to stop this i think is start up i tunes then hold the home button then press the lock button. hold the lock and home button to turn it on again then let go of the lock button and the itunes will say do u want to restore the ipod and restore it.

Very nice explanation. I think most people's guides don't include closing iTunes Helper, which is the reason why so many people mess up while jailbreaking.

also, if you're already using 1.1.4 on your iPhone and you've been using it a while so you have music/contacts/photos, do you have to restore it in order for the jailbreak to work successfully?
