  • No offence you reckon your photography is 'breathtaking' but it seems in half of your photographs you have just picked up a camera and took a picture of what's there in front of you. Didn't you even bother to think of composition? because these seem kinda boring no offence :L.

  • @sorawr123 Have you checked out the photographs that I have taken since then?

  • 0:32, that's not the Beau Rivage Biloxi, is it?

  • @nhomewarrior Nope, the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

  • This has nothing to do with light painting. Please chenge the name of it. Besisdes those are just normal everyday photos. Nothing reaaly incredible or good at all.

  • i think you got mixed up between light painting and capturing light. your photos are capturing light and not necessarily painting with light. it's a different meaning altogether. IMO, you still have got some way to go but keep shooting and you'll get there..

  • Thanks. This is an older portfolio though. I have done a lot since then; feel free to check it out.

  • I have added more since then.

  • this isnt light painting!!! its just normal pictures!

  • If you think that you can do better then be my guest.

  • for your information!!!!! I CAN DO BETTER!!!!!! but honestly, where the light painting in this tell me. cuz it just looks like its glowing, but not all the pics even look like they're glowing!

  • That is not what painting with light means; as a photographer you should know this, and if you are a photographer and write with such emboldened speech, then by all means DO SO!

  • i didn't like all of the photos but i really like the one with the lion statue and the one with the big chimney or grain silo or something.

    also 1:55 is fantastic

overall i think good job on these

  • Thanks.

I believe it is a smokestack; it was at a fish cannery. The lions guard the entrance to the Lions Gate Bridge, which is where Lions Gate Films gets its name.

  • 1:55 is PRIME. =)

  • Two filters were used: a sunset filter at the top, and a yellow filter at the bottom. The kids just happened to come along; my father and I asked them to pose. To me it gives the impression they are all watching the world end.

  • Maybe to you, so the inevitable reply is, what song does not "stink"?

  • Some people just get on YouTube to be assholes, I personally think they're all great.

  • Thank you, but I will still keep on trying to do even better.

  • I don't get on YouTube to be an asshole, I'm a photographer, and I expressed an opinion. Ask a pro and he'll probably think the same. Again: sorry!

  • 2.08 and 2:49 where cool!

  • Thanks, and they were both captured on film too, so I had a delay of about a week or so until I got back and found the results. I believe 2:08 was also captured in one take. I would love to go back to Vega$ now with a Digital SLR.

  • Vast majority of them ar not done by an"Amateur/Professional Photographer", my 10 years old sister with her kodak compact shoots THE SAME KIND OF PICTURES. Just 3 of them are good... and not so special.

If you were just starting it would be ok but... 5 years of practicing and shooting... and this is all there is?!?! Do something else my friend, it's not your thing.

Sorry man... really... but I mean it.

  • Dont be sorry. You have the right to express your opinion, just as I have the right to disagree with it, although I must say if your sister can take such great photographs at age ten, imagine how good shell be at my age!

BTW: which three did you like?

  • No, she will not necessarely become great: it's just that many pictures are just "dull point and click of a thing" (not all of them!) and she does the same.

    The best are 0.50 1.58 2.55

  • So you take photos of... stuff... then call yourself a photographer. Cool...

  • Well, first of all, lots of photographers take pictures of "stuff" they have found attractive, though not necessarily shared by a wider audience. And secondly-having left yourself open to this question-how would you define the credentials of a photographer?

  • Love the bulb exposure at 2:19!! Defiantly a tripod shot. 3 seconds ??

    64m >:-)

  • It was five years ago; I can't remember the exposure length, although I would guess about 3 seconds, but yes it was done with a tripod. Thanks

  • what camera do you use??

  • For these particular photos, taken over a space of five years, two types. I started out using a Canon EOS 300 SLR, and now go between a Canon Digital Rebel XTi and an EOS 30D.

  • That's OK; it gives me a reason to try harder.

  • I say the same as the previous comment. Great pictures, I know for fact way better than I could do. =]

  • the quality isn't the greatest, probably youtube's fault

  • Man those are some good shots. I like the city at night. My fav is the jet. =^x^=

  • Some fantastic work in your portfolio. Well done.

I wonder if you share your work on photo sites, like betterphoto or photographycorner.

Good luck anyway and keep on shooting! :)

  • Thank you. As of right now this is the only place on the net with a quality share of my portfolio.

  • Then I'd strongly recommend you join a photo site. There's so much exposure and 'feedback' and your photos are better than many I've seen. I share the same hobby and appreciate talent.

    Good luck
