Jim, are you using kdenlive for your video editing under Ubuntu? Any suggestions for why I can't get my video camera to be recognized in other applications like Tokbox? It just refuses to see it.
You are 100% correct... Hell computers first over food and drink... I know the important things in life. Number one thing on my list is a computer desk.
I've always preferred real desks, ya know, with drawers and stuff, to keep the clutter to a minimum. (he says behind a desk covered 4 feet high with clutter anyway). :)
Life without funiture sucks. Hey if you need any spare parts to make the other PC come back to life, lemme know... I might be able to round something up to send it to you.
It looks so messed up inside that I do not even want to look at it right now. I am sure my son or grandson will want to mess with it one of these days. Only problem is if they get it working I will have to let them have it. I have one computer running Ubuntu right now. When I can afford it I may just get a cheap Computer to a few Windows things. I miss Windows Live Writer and the program that controls my (radio) scanner. About the only reason I need Windows.
Sorry to hear that. Well if you DO find something specific wrong with it that maybe I can help replace with some of stuff I have here let me know. How you liking Ubuntu? I hooked my mom up with a Ubuntu machine I built. Works like a champ and I don't have to worry about her getting a buncha virii y'know
I been using Ubuntu off and on for years.. most of the time as a dual boot system on a computer with Windows. The current version is excellent. If they can just do a little more to it.. I think it will be ready for most people. I agree Ubuntu is excellent for people that just need to surf the web and read email and do a few simple things. You do not have to worry about virus and other problems.
