  • Ive seen many turbo v6 cars that are a lot faster ... And all turbo regals , ttypes , and gns were turbo v6s....

  • gn may have came 3.8 turbo but you can put any engine you want in there. In my opinion turbos are bolt on displacement. So assuming you have a 3.8 and a 6.0 at the same boost level. The car that flows the most air is going to win, which in my opinion would be the turbo v8. Not that you couldnt make alot of power with the 3.8 because you can, but built to the max with good heads, internals, turbo, ect. the v8 will have more power.

It has a 401 DART block, center mounted 88mm turbo, CNC'd AFRs, wilson spider intake, TH400 transmission with a Ford mod bellhousing. Runs off of E-85. cage. maximum motorsport everything. Its just dumb listing all this thinking how much money I spent to go faster than a bike in a car. But the car I will like the most... will have to be the factory 5 I am building. peace=)

Most of them don't even make it to me. I would never own a bike because of it. We call them "donorcycles" for a reason.

  • You guys are crazy, he still kept it turbo, and didn't cut it all up. If he has the GN motor and tranny still he just has to put them back in and it's the same thing as it was before.

  • Not gonna lie, the 6.0 sounds Beautiful, and I love the sound of a turbo spooling behind a V8 song...but being the owner of an 85 GN, it kinda makes me sad that you did that to a grand national

  • @babycodyjr They are not different. Same chassis, same engine / transmission / rear. Only thing different was cosmetic stuff. And a slightly bigger turbo. It only had like 30 more hp. 275 vs 245. A Grand National / GNX and a 89 Turbo Trans Am are Completely different cars.

  • @babycodyjr Dude, you are wrong, a grand national, and a gnx are the same thing. The onlythings different are.

    Exterior: Wheels, GNX badges, Fender vents. Interior: Gauge cluster. Mechanical: ladder bar, better suspension, and a slightly larger turbo with a special ceramic heat shield.

    Everything else is the same., GN is a W body, GNX is a W Body. The statement you are trying to make, would be the same as if i tried to say a 02 Camaro z28, is totaly different from a 02 Camaro SS.

  • @impulsivedesigns Yes your correct, the Monte Carlo and the Cutlass stayed on the G-body line into 88. The Regal however went to the front drive W platform in 88. Sounds like a nice car btw, any vids?

  • @babycodyjr What do you think the "GN" stands for in GNX? The GNX was put out in '87, the final year for Grand Nationals, to be the best of them all.

  • not to hate on your project,but why a gn.we have v6 cars going 9.90s and they are daily drivers with 200r4s and 3:42 gears.if you would have done this to any other car it would be the coolest thing ever.you destroyed another gn,that sucks!!!

  • The only cool part about gn's were that they were grandpa car turbo v6's that kicked ass. Kinda lame that you put a v8 in it.

  • Is it hitting boost right? You need to crank that boost up and check your timer. Seems to be spooling slow by the sound of the turbo whistling. It should be distorting the hell out of the camera's sound quality with super high freqs. Still sweet though, but why ruin the value of the car with a v8?

  • Yep, no such thing as a V-8 Turbo Regal. Might have been nice, but that was just folklore.........I've owned GN's for 16 years now. :-)
