He's repeatedly said that charity if for the locality to take care of. The federal govt tried to intervene on this for a long time but it destroyed the system in the process. Where are all of the Catholic and Shriner charity hospitals now? Most have closed because of govt interference causing costs to rise

Schools are paid for with property taxes where I'm from and that is a local tax. We pass millages to build new buildings and other facilities. Believe it or not, we could manage without the intrusion of the Feds. We used to have a great charity network of hospitals and that has been reduced to nothing because of Federal meddling

NOTICE THAT they purposely edited out part of the clip they showed of RP from the debate-- the part that Fox edited out in that segment was Dr. Paul giving a great example of why government intervention SCREWED the housing market in the first place.
It was the Fed's artificially low interest rates (impossible in free market conditions) that fueled all the over-investment in housing during the boom, distorted the market, and left us with an excess of new homes as building outpaced actual demand.
