  • thank god dayton still make's them like they use too ! thank god for dayton !

  • well actually dayton bought these from lakewood and rebadged them as daytons.

  • o cool but still they make great fans to day.

  • man i need to make a vid of my wheel horse. but i just havent had time to upload

  • cool my neihbour has an old wheel horse. and there is a decrepit wheel horse snowmobile at my grandmothers!

  • i love the sound of the old box fans

  • Great fan! I have one just like it.

Technically its not quite a P-23. The P-23 has 3 rivets holding on the blades. The 4-rivet blades like this fan has are more powerful. They also work better in reverse which is why you will find them on most of Lakewood's reversible models.

    Just FYI :)

  • never noticed that his fan has 4 rivits and a p-23 has 3rivits cool

  • if this isnt a p23 what model would it be if it were baged as a lakewood ?

  • I know the Lakewood models with those blades and thermostats were either P-47 or P-48. I dont think Lakewood ever made a plain 3 speed with those blades in the 70's. Back in the 60's there was a Lakewood X-22 with those blades.

I believe that the P-20, P-23, etc, were introduced originally (in the 60's) as a cheaper alternative to the standard Lakewood fans.

  • oh i see

  • in reply to youre saying dayton had it made for them this is not correct.

dayton designed its own fan but bought its motors from lakewood eng .

the rest of the fan is made by the dayton company.

  • well im not going to say if your right or wrong but i own a lake wood built kmart fan for compairison. if youl look at a p23 the grills are identical to this dayton. the blades are made by lakewood identical to p23 blades, motor says its alakewood, box is identical to a p23's box. switch is identical to a p-23. so really the only thing dayto desighned was the grounded cord and a cover over the bottom of the switch. but i belive that this was built in the lakewood factory for dayton!

  • hey that itscool1968 guy put a comment on my fan vid to. he said it was sold a granger. NO SHIT SHERLOCK. im not sure if they sold them elsewhere . im not sure where my G-pa got it either. so who know but it was sold at grangers to we all know that. maybee ace sold them too back in the day

  • lol i think these fans would have been sold strictly at industrial supply companys otherwise there would be more of them out there. my dad bought ours from a freind back in the late 80's and the freind bought it from graingers! Great place BTW!

  • maybee he got it at grangers. he was a carpenter electrician guy. or maybee a garage sale. but maybee he bought it. he also has a S223 with box. he had to buy that. i really want it from him but they wont let it go yet. at least i got the dayton. it was my first metal bladed lakewood. i should ask him yet but he may not remember.

  • right and lake wood eng and maufractureing is still made in the good old usa the p25 before it got discontunied was made 100 % in the usa.

i own 4 so i know this for a fact

  • i know that yes thos are 100% american but im yet to see another american lakewood fan. all i see now is the chinese s#$@. i own one its garbage.

  • the only 100% american made lakewood is the p25 not made any more but still in the supply chain most ace hardware stores have some left.

other than that its death to the real american made box fan that was real quilty

  • true

  • ialso that dyaton window fan i sold to mitch. that was lakewoods mthey made there own too and for dayton. lakso also did the same. we will allways know thats true no matter what other morrons with no vids say. well cya i need to fold cloths it hat e it but my ma is coming home soon.

  • I really like this dayton!! I wish i could find one somewhere.

  • good luck!

  • I know someone who had one of those, it was a great fan until it got lost in a house fire. I'd like to find one of those.

  • ive notived it has a slitly bigger handel than a regular P23, and the motor gets up to speed faster

  • motor gets up to speed faster because im not shy to use my oil can. otherwise it is the same 2.8 amp motor found in any p-23

  • beautiful :)

  • sounds exactly like mine. i cant wait to get a new camera, and show you them with sound

  • it does sound nice louder than my arctic aire. i love my artic aire

  • i use my 4C418 in my garage and basement alot, sometimes in my, room, but its one of my best air movers. so i use it where its need most

  • it yellow

  • keep guessing

  • no, it pink

  • thats right lol

  • dude thanks for the model #, now i know exactly what mine is , thanks, very nice fan

  • no problem

  • nice fan im still looking for one lol

  • hey hey now i gave you the info to get up to 5 nib cheap

  • i know but fans cost cash and shiping costs more cash i know where theres one on a stand that in 2-4 weeks can be mine at the flea market my homart came from

  • you never know how much it will cost untill you ask. but good luck at the flea market and if you dont want the fans i will advertise them to other fan collectors so they can get them

  • ill email them tomorrow and ask

  • good for you i rally hope it works out for you. unlike dino boy who says buy more fan now to make him happy. i thought you would like a good accurite tip on where to find a nib k-mart p23 to make you happy.
