  • In the scripture of Genesis Chapter 1 it says "In the beginning god created heaven and earth ". That is how I know. P.S. I'm a Christian.

  • being positive without proof is illogical, being negative until proof is found is more logical.

  • i had a look at quantum mechanics, espacially quantum waves and tried to follow the conclusions i got, when i combined those theories with rieman's theorem of zeta functions. I feel like knowing the answer why existence is. This maybe totally fails at answering your question, but what always bothered me, was the most general "why"...now i have some inner peace, without bothering if there is a god or not :)

  • If God is a kind, all knowing God, he would not allow innocent people to go to Hell just for not believing in him. (I'm still undecided, but lately I have been leaning towards the fact that he doesn't)

  • Just another question, if the creation story of Genesis is real... how come there is evidence of dinosaurs and other pre-historic creatures that existed before humans. God just creates animals then humans... dinosaurs were extinct before we came. Well, many of them were, some still exist today.

Also, if Jesus was born at christmas, why do we have christmas trees? Because christians stole Saturnalia from the Pagans.

  • On the story of Noah's Ark the are animals with Ceder Tree-like tails and dinosaurs have tails shaped like ceder trees.

Jesus wasn't born Christmas Day it is just the day we use to symbolize it

  • What evidence are you basing the fact that humans and dinosaurs didn't coexist

  • Sorry just found your site cause your one of the few who have c++ network tutorials, good ones.

As far as God...The Precession of the Equinoxes at least proves Christianity/Judaism/Islam are all based on the stars/planets as ALL religions are. The bible it self is bases on star movements. We are in the age of Pisces, that is why we see fish on cars, it has nothing to do with Jesus. Just watch any video from Jordan Maxwell to get the correct translation of all religious symbols.

  • Hi Rachel! First of all, I love your game creations and your tutorials too.

Well, I've learned that it takes Intellect and Intelligence to imagine, design, construct, test, and to improve something to make it useful.

Like building a house, a house cannot design and build itself.

    Same thing as creating Life.

Just look at the design of everything... matter, anatomy, planets, elements, etc.

    That's why...

I believe that Great Intellect (or for religious term, God) does exist.

    LOVE & LIGHT

  • I don't care what people call it, energy, god, magic - most people believe things for comfort...say heaven.

If the concept of death was just that "it ends...I think suicide rates would be sky high. As far as the CHRISTIAN GOD goes...look how many wars have been waged in his name.

I see the world as holy, yet people dress up in their FINEST(instead of going in rags and donating money to the poor) and giving more money to this 'sanctum'...does 'god' need your money? Please..question everything.

  • So true :)

  • For people who believe in a god, the bible says that he was around from the start right? Well...

    a) How would the bible writers know this

    b) What created god, the theory of design means that complex thing must have a creator. EG: the watch. And, god must be complex also in that he never dies and was always around, so what created him.

  • A) The Holy Bible is a collection of religious documents that were passed on through time.

    B) God created time, so there was no before Him. The verse that says He created time.

Genesis 1: 14 ' Then God said,"Let there be lights (stars) in the firmament of the heavens (Outer space) to divide the day form the night;(the division of the day and night is TIME).

So Here is a question for you: What/Who created the particles in the Big Bang that collided?

  • I would like to know why: Genesis (KJB): 1:26 ....Let US make man in OUR image...

What do you suppose that means? If God in singular, why specify "us".

Honestly I dont like arguing with religious people cause it gets too emotional and logic does not factor in. I was raised Catholic and new when I was 10 something was off. It took the internet to see reallity (others like me). I am with Jordan Maxwell when he says there is a God out there. He is just not the one we think we are praying to.

  • Because it is referring to the Holy Trinity.

The Father( God), The Son( Jesus), and The Holy Spirit. These are not 3 gods, but 1 God existing as 3.

  • The Trinity has many roots. Hindus have Brama, Krishna, Shiva...It could also mean the sun it at 3 points in the sky rising/high noon/falling. All religions have the trinity.

  • But Judaism( which is what founded Christianity)

has RECORDS that date back to c. 2000BCE,

but Hinduism was founded in c. 1500BC

So what are some other religions that have trinities because you mentioned only one. As for the 12 disciples there is proof that 4 of the disciples and one unidentified man that is believed to Judas did walk the eart. There is also forensics evidence that Jesus did exist.

  • Nobody knows as of this moment...

    A question to you:

How do you know the bible is legit, and who or what created God. Dont reply by saying he was always there, it isnt an answer.

  • One other thing in all this is the 12 disciples that are always mentioned. Those12 are the zodiac constellations. How easy is that? At night all you have to do is look up to the 'Heavens' and see the disciples looking down at us. All come with their own personalities.

  • Wow.... didnt know jesus had goats, bulls, lobsters, crabs and centaurs as followers.

  • Cancer is known today as a crab...but in ancient times it was actually a Unicorn. If you look at the star positions is makes sense. And Jesus did have goats, Satanists make fun of Christianity through the goat. You see, Jesus is supposedly born on Dec. 25, that would make him a Capricorn. So satanists (nutjobs looking for attention) place a goat inside a 'pentagram' which is only a star...the start Sirus...of course satanists think its Anton Lavey's bedroom.

  • Wow... jesus had a Unicorn follower... I dont like the approach to satanism, they can say similar about christianity. Idiots looking for attention. Why was christianity started, because jesus got alot of uhm... attention.

  • I believe. that people should believe what ever they think to be true. but personally, their has to be something... because what created the universe which all things reside in?

  • Its called the theory of evolution which is basically fact now. Its just another contradiction between logic and religion in which logic wins,

  • The burden of proof rests with those that believe in a God / his existence. Stating such a thing must be justified to be proven. I don't proclaim I am god as I cannot justify myself so how can we be expected to believe that something else is a god with no justification.

  • For those who believe the big bang theory. Who/What created the particles that collided, Who/What created time, distance, space, matter, and every little detail we take for granted and just assume was already there. Therefore God must exist.

  • The existence of a god cant be proved, but the faith of the people who belives in gods is the closest thing we have to a proof of them, at the end of the day does not matter whether we believe or not, what matters is what we do with our beliefs, we can use it as a excuse for our mistakes, fears and guilt, or we can fully implement what really teach us faith.

    ¿God Exist?

    We make him real.

As long as we think about him, he will be there for us.

  • A god, in the biblical sense, makes absolutely no sense to me. If a being was that all-powerful, i'm quite certain it wouldn't be as petty, jealous, narcissistic, malevolent, bullish, spiteful, greedy sadistic, self obsessed, childish, irresponsible, genocidal, ifanticidal, irratic and insane as yahweh seems to be.

The 'lessons' in the bible simply have no place in modern society. They are outdated. If god really had written it, the lessons in it would be timeless.

  • I dont believe in a god, at least outside of a deistic sense, because there isnt a shred of objective evidence. All of the major religions of the world all bear the familiar signs of a man-made idea, whos purpose is to control others. I believe in a god no more than I believe in fairies or the flying spaghetti monster. There are a number of things that would change my views in an instant, because I draw my conclusion after the evidence. Religious folks draw their conclusion before the evidence.

  • In my mind, God is whatever started the big bang. It could be another civilization who learned how to compress energy into a singleton. Or it could be a black hole from a previous universe. The Bible is just a story to me, it proves not a thing.

  • I believe in god due to the fact that simple mutations can't change a single-celled organism into a fully functional human being. Also if that did happen, we wouldn't be intelligent.

It's about as likely as a tornado coming through a junk yard and making a stealth bomber.

  • Why can't simple mutations chance a single-celled organism into a human being? Are you forgetting that we are the result of billions of years of evolution? Even the simplest organisms have taken billions of years to develop into what they are now!

  • Well last I checked in order for something to change (chance as you say), it has to have that change applied to it, then its offspring has the same change in it. I HIGHLY doubt a change including growing bones, muscles, a brain, nervous system, organs, and have veins that if connected could cross the world twice(fun fact) could be applied to something without God planning that out.

  • What are you basing that knowledge on? Are you really this vague in real life? Do you know nothing about science at all?

  • I don't think your question has an answer. There have been so many different gods over time. The Sun and the Moon were probably the first two gods people had. People could see the Sun and the Moon so they knew they existed but we wouldn't call that proof enough today. Personally I see religion more as an ever repeating and evolving cultural concept. To me gods become immortal when the number of followers reach a certain critical mass so that the idea won't die off.

  • ....I only know that this type of God doesn't exist. Just look at the reasoning behind entering heaven and hell. "Accept Christ as your saviour otherwise you go to hell", this is obviously just a conversion tactic; "Do as we say or we will punish you".

Sorry if I actually have sounded condescending or ranty, but I'm just expressing myself, I don't mean anyone offense.

  • ....I personally don't really believe in a god and definitely not the abrahamic portrayal of God; this god is just a reflection of our egocentric nature and I hate it when religious people use his "omnipotence" and "omniscience" to immunise him from any form of scrutiny. This is just a dismissive, non-credible answer lacking of logic or reasoning; things like " God works in mysterious ways" and "God doesn't need to be logical, he is above and beyond logic, for his is the divine will."....

  • This question must get asked at least weekly over on yahoo answers. I think asking us not to debate and argue over this was wishful thinking on your part; that's like sticking a mountain of chocolate in front of a fat kid and asking them not too touch or eat it.

In answer to your question, no one can prove beyond doubt God's existence, we can only informed decisions based on our own experiences....

  • I believe in God. Read the "Flower of Life (vol. 1 to 2)"... it will help you to understand about the absolute reality. Give it a try... :)

  • I don't believe in God. Read an article on the Big Bang theory and spacetime. It will help you to understand the truth. Give it a try... ;)

  • Too many coincidences. If my life were a plot for a movie, it'd be unrealistic.

Therefore, I believe in God, due to him making my life's plot unrealistic :P

  • I believe in God, and my proof of his existence is that I look in the mirror and see him every day.

That guy with the pretty messy hair that makes decisions for me every day, gets me through problems, etc...

  • So... You're God? That's what you're saying...

  • Yep. I'm my god. The only god that'll ever exist. The one that controls my life, decisions, and everything that happens in it.

  • That's what I like to hear! :)

  • actually no body KNOWS what you believe, is much different from what you know, you cannot use guesses accurately.

notice how all the things people say, and that you read from bible ALL perfectly connect by "spiritual" means AND by scientific means, so either

God decided to make the world believe their isn't God by making scientists jackasses

or those jackasses are right about the big bang, evolution, genesis by carbon, etc.

so do i believe in God, haven't decided

  • The literal idea of God is very specific in its nature and how it gets described (omnipotent, conscious and possessing of emotions, at the very least). A specific and detailed concept like this can only have arisen out of factual, observable evidence and/or people's imaginations. Fact... or fiction. Since God occupies the rhealm of the utterly untestable (as even most Christians would admit) it can't be based on fact. Which leaves...

  • I do not believe in god. I believe that the earth was created random, because there are more than 100,000 stars in our galaxy and about 1,000,000 galaxies, so there's a big chance that there's life. (I think I read too many books by Hawking xD)

PS: sorry for my bad english skills

  • Eh, I know God exists because there is enough physical proof that links with the bible.

  • Also, the existence of Satan sours me toward the idea of God. I can't believe in a divine-being that allows such evil to exist.

  • I don't believe in God because there isn't enough proof. All the miracles and wonder of life can be explained by science, so that leaves Him with the creation(of earth, the universe, and life). That question, however, is superseded by "where did God come from?" Most of the(christian) people I've asked say that God has always been there. Frankly, I can't accept that. However, religion is a necessary evil. It serves as a morality check.

  • Religion is by no means a necessary evil, and anybody with any self dignity would never classify it as a basis for morality in any sense.

The reality is that a society without morals, such as killing is bad, theft is bad, etc., quickly destroys itself due to its own inability to grow and prosper. It has absolutely nothing to do with religion, which was made to control and manipulate people by lies and promises of life after death.

You need to do some reading.

  • There is too much evidence for natural evolution for me to believe in some divine super-being

  • here is a good point; How many religions are out there? There is probably more you dont know of than the ones that you do, each one claiming theres is "all". The funny thing is that there is only one truth. I think i'll take my chances and go with the one thing thats always been here even before we came to be. 1+1=2 2+2=4 4+4=8 those are the only things that will never lie to you, the one solid truth.

  • Though, technically, numbers and math are made up figments. XD

  • You don't. It's all up to you in what you believe.

  • You cannot prove nor disprove the existence of god, or any god for that matter. But because of that matter alone, we shouldn't jump to the conclusion that there is one, rather the opposite until observation shows otherwise.

And since nobody has been able to give any clear evidence (using the bible is only a means of proof is circular reasoning, and is thus invalid), you would be the first if you ever could.

I recommend Christopher Hitchen's and Richard Dawkin's books for more information.

  • My answer is: I actually don't know if he exists. I consider myself an atheist, but I cant be 100% sure of god's non existance. I just find it very unlikely. I did believe at one point, but the concept fell apart for me, and no one managed to explain to me what i see as logical errors. I've really looked around, and i only see the same weak answers to those. I came to the conclusion that god is an unnecessary hypothesis, and there's no evidence for it. But I really try to assess it honestly.

  • I believe in intelligent design. I believe that intelligence to be GOD. And the reson I believe is, I just believe. Some people say the Bible is corupt and how could I possibley believe it to be accurate and I say that no matter which version it is the truth is always there. GoOD made us all and one day he will claim us again.

  • Well, I don't believe. And it's cool :) My mother makes me go to church and I see kneeling and praying humans like in some ancient rituals. Like beeing in other country. And only then it becomes somehow interesting. i don't believe in god because religion is a way of living. It gives some good rules for live but that doesnn't mean we have to pray for someone.

  • because "everything of the universe we barely know..." seems to elaborated. I consider more logical to believe that there is something (call it god if you want) that created it and/or is everywhere. i dont believe its a guy who made us alike him, nor is made out of spaghetti or gives us 10 commandments to leave peacefully. thats what causes to doubt about its existence. the real truth for ME is, never dismiss something just beacause u dont have proofs of it.

  • Scientists believe that at some point in time all known space and everything in it once filled the space of lets say a marble and has and continues to expand from the point of 00 in all directions equally.

So we are inside and all matter is inside of this bubble for lack of a better word. And nothing can leave this bubble for if it were to break out then it would collapse and destroy everything if that were possible.

There is a formula that says you can't ever get to the edge.

  • From what we've observed from the scope of Earth, everything must come from something, but what's to say this is true for the entire universe and reality as a whole? Matter may be as eternally infinite as people believe god is.

  • Again I will pose a question if you do not believe that their is a creator then how can you believe that something can come from nothing.

Or if you look at a blank sheet of paper and draw nothing how can you see the mind of the Artist.

  • I would just ask, if it were possible that you could write a program and cover every case that could make a complete bubble. And inside that space make your own rules fill it with your desire make a complete A.I. in your image.

    Who would you be...

  • So are you saying it's possible or impossible? ;P

  • Comment removed

  • 2) Umm, You just broke your own rule?!

"So are you saying it's possible or impossible? ;P "

  • :) No, she's a God of this pgae so she is allowned to do everything ;D Even doing mistakes }:D

  • What I did was within the rules. :P

  • No, I said you can ask questions, and I didn't understand what your point was.

  • I replied mu10566 message. It says : "2) Umm, You just broke your own rule?! " So I said your the god of this page. I don't understand why you are looking for a point in a joke?

  • Just clarifying is all.

  • Sorry For the Text Wall, Felt I really should put what I think, and I seemed to have gone overboard a bit lol. Hope you don't mark it all as spam =p

  • I believe that God exists because of the data AGAINST God also. Many of the theories made to disprove my religion just seem so full of it. I know two theories against the resurrection of Jesus are that they went to the wrong tomb, (they also blame the wrong directions on women =/) and that Jesus never really died. The first one requires no extra commentary, although it is one of the most widely accepted theories. The second one really doesn't make much sense either.

  • I don't understand why either counter argument requires no rebuttal. They seem like perfectly legit hypothesis to me.

  • That would mean that he was Beat 40 times with a whip, nailed to a cross through the hands and feet, then somehow got out of the cloth wrapped around him with it staying in the form of the body. Then he somehow moved that humongous boulder back and forth, then walked two miles. By that time, if he wasn't dead before, he would SURELY have died.

  • Also, the bible doesn't appear to be changed to be 'perfect' it is written as is. There is an account during the Resurrection of Jesus that says one guard saw one angel, and the other saw two angels. If it was made up, I would surely think they would make those two accounts match. And I certainly don't believe that makes the event untrue. I mean, from angles of perspective, maybe one of the guards was only able to see one angel, while the other was able to see two.

  • The last thing I want to say why I believe in God, is everything around us. I really recommend that you guys really go somewhere like in the mountains. Not so that you will take my religion or anything, but just so you can observe the beauty. In my mind I just can't believe that somehow some random collision happened creating this universe. Science shows that if anything were slightly moved, all of the planets would collide, and we'd be screwed pretty much.

  • Hold on though... if God has it all figured out.. then why did he drown everybody (except Noah) in Genesis? Do you think that that is part of the "master plan" as well? God killing his own creation?

And if it really is all true, then can I ask why you think God would do all of this? Formulate a "master plan" as well as carry it out... it seems like an awful lot of work for no clear motive. In life there is one guarantee: we will die... so does God just enjoy watching things die then?

    thx

  • yes, the entire noahs ark story has alot of logical problems, but the very fact 'God' (the external, christian entity portrayed in the bible) would need, want or desire to do ANYTHING at all would be a contradiction against one of his own attributes ('perfection')

To be perfect means you would have no lack, therefore no need to create or destroy in the first place.

There are countless other contradictions/problems with the bible but I think alot of them are down to bad translation.

  • If you actually took the time to read this really long comment, I applaud you, because it was pretty long. But I advise that you don't trust anyone's words on this page, not even mine. Religion should be something you discover yourself. If you read something here that you think was interesting, don't take their word for it, go research it.

  • That's the biggest problem I see with arguments with religion, no one does their research, (I'm even guilty of that =[ ...) We seem to just take what someone says as true and leave with it. So really guys, go research it, I mean, think of it this way: If there is a God and you didn't believe, you have a lot to lose. But if there isn't a God, and you do believe, what do you have to lose?

  • Currently knowing is not possible. It's merely a belief system. I'm apathetic toward all religious affairs because I don't need answers -- I make them.

  • I think God does not exist, because we have not a single definitive piece of evidence that he/she exists. The tales about God were created because people seeked an explanations for things that happen in the nature, but they couldn't, so they created this being that would explain everything.

  • For me, God does exist coz we exist. The seen and the unseen does exist coz polarity exist and God is the Great Unseen.

    LOVE & PEACE :D

  • Well that's easy. You don't. No matter what you experience, you cannot know, definitively that God (or any other supernatural entity or phenomenon) exists. It is not the nature of the supernatural to be measured logically or scientifically. By definition, these things cannot be known, because they exist outside of logical thought. That is what makes them "miraculous" or godly in the first place, the fact that they are beyond this existence.

  • np, I'm Atheist, I just wanted to understand other viewpoints.

  • I believe that God exists, but I also believe that he does not wish for us to know that he exists, because if he wanted to know he existed, then he would show himself to us or give us a clear/concrete sign, instead of creating miracles and such, which is more discrete...

I hope you can understand what I said, lol

  • I know God does not exist. Because there is simply no evidence to show he does. The only thing religions have is very old texts written many thousands of years ago which prove nothing more than the people interpretation of evenets at the time. Science has already disproved most of the bible and other religions and will continue to do so. If god were real, why would he create all the evidence to the contrary? And why do we have so many different religions? Simply because they're all made all.

  • Or Religion could of been made up to stop people being afraid of death but I do not beleve that no more

  • sorry about my bad spelling ):

  • Ok so the reason why I belevein god is because, I seen a ghost when I was a little kid and plus I have this video documentry of this girl who got possed by the devil and it dont seem like no fake video to me because the girl really died.

  • every time I posted my dam comment it didnt show up now im very angry

  • Well this comment showed up. Try again? o_o

If your response is above the limit (see: little counter by discard button), post it as two or more comments.

  • dont you think is funny that the religion you are is mostly dependent on the place where you born?

when you are little your fathers tell you what to belive in, so you keep doing that, the people that invented religions were really smart they figure out a way in wich people keep transmiting information through the time telling them to do good things that is good but the ones in the power has be using the religions for they own benefit so is not good anymore, plus it can be a lie your call

  • why would anyone find how religion is mostly dependent on birth place a comical matter?

  • I think it's part of his point, not so much "Hey let's laugh at how all of a culture tend to be in one area" o.0

  • Comment removed

  • sorry if i sound too laugthy but its just a way to express it, i belive there is not a magical guy, a lot of religions blame atheists cause they dont have answers for the genesis and all that stuff, just partial ones, but they either.

i think most of their traditions are just a waiste of time they should realy update.

  • I find the question incomplete because you did not define God. God can any number of things, in many belief systems god is more than one thing and generally speaking if you mean the one god then it is everything and nothing at once.

If you define god as an entity that represents everything, well then I guess god exists.

You could also mean a subset god, such as a god that created our universe. Which I'd say is a very minor god and I have no idea if such a god exists, but I think so.

  • The question was left vague and open to interpretation.

Basically, answer however you think god is.

    Thanks for answering.

  • Why would anyone define a god as an entity that represents everything? Why not just use the word "everything" to describe everything?

  • Because "everything" includes Sandwiches, and we don't want to group Sandwiches in the same category as god.

  • That's not an answer to my question. Are you being sarcastic?

  • Yup.

You're misusing the "question" rule. It's meant to clarify peoples' points, and not to try to indirectly debate them.

  • ok ok sorry.

  • First I will say that everyone has faith, even atheists. Although atheists have faith in science, not a supernatural being. I personally do not see how a God can justify being worshipped when his only way of confirming his existence is from a second hand source, like the words of people. It sounds odd that a perfect being would reside rely on an imperfect proxy to carry out his message.

It is possible that a God exists, but so far he hasn't done anything to warrant my worship for him.

  • A couple people asked what I believe, so here it is:

The whys are pretty basic: I find it unlikey that there is a god. I don't look at the world and say, "Everything must have had a creator". How do we know this is true, even? We don't know anything about the entirety of reality.

If there were a sort of creator, I somehow doubt that it was a conscious "all-powerful human-like person" who did the creating, but more the effect of something (ie big bang).

  • (cont)

I also believe that, if there were a human-like god behind creating everything just because s/he felt like it, it's definitely not the god described in any of the religions. Religions were created by humans and are quite self-serving and arrogant. God created us in his image? We're not important, we're just creatures with the same goal as every other animal on Earth: Reproduction.

  • @lusikka

just read your view on this topic, very interesting indeed.

This is also how I have felt for a long time (regarding the christian God I was raised to believe in) his attributes according to the bible are quite elitist and shallow or needy (ie. not very "God-like").

Although that's not to say God doesnt exist in some other form, just not in the cults/religions that humans have formed about him so far.

Once we lose the ego (i have hope of that! lol) we will be closer to the truth.

  • How can you believe that everything is the result of some explosion in the beginning (something from nothing, please)? Wouldn't you much rather believe that a god created a man from dirt and a woman from that man's rib? - questions from an atheist for everyone to consider

  • o_o

  • I generally need to have proof in order to believe things. God has not shown himself for me, so i don't believe in him.

lack of proof of his existance doesnt mean he doesnt exist

lack of dis-proof(?) of his existance doesnt mean he exist

i say he doesnt exist until proven otherwise

  • Personally I believe that God & Jesus exists, but Lusikka, what do you believe.

Please remove comment ratings because it can start arguments.

  • Alright, I didn't know I could do that, heh. I've been voting thumbs up to everyone as long as they follow the rules.

  • Also, left a comment as to what I believe.

  • I believe he exists. There are just way too many things science cannot explain. For example, if there was a big bang what caused it? How did it get set off? There had to be something from which everything else was created. You can break most things down to sub atomic particles but where did even those come from?

  • I'm not to shut you down, but your logic relies on the theory that "everything has a creator"

So my question, and I mean this sincerely, if everything has a creator then what created The Creator, God?

If the answer is that there is no creator of God, then couldn't there also theoretically be no creator of the Big Bang, or subatomic particles etc?

    -thanks

  • i agree everything have creator ... so i beleive god is like number 0 no end and no initiating ... exist with his power himself

  • I don't know that god or gods do or do not exist, however based on the fact there is much evidence that gods were created by man as a mechanism for explaining what was once unexplainable, and considering that religion evolved to a state where it includes elements of brain-washing and groupthink which makes it self-sustaining, it seems likely that there is no god or gods. It seems more likely that it's simply a failure to break a very old cycle.

  • No debate! Find another place to do so!

  • By the way to people who are confused reading my post, someone else responded to trufun202, I responded, and then deleted said post. ;P

  • From a scientific/analytical perspective, I once found it hard to wrap my brain around the existence of a supreme being, or God.

However, my father passed away when I was 22, and I find peace in knowing, in my heart, that I'll get to see him again one day. To turn my back on such a possibility is simply not an option - I have to believe.

  • For me the history and so on of some GOD.... is just the biggest lie of all. For generations the ppl are believing in something that they cannot prove! They believe in nothing, waisting their time at the church thinking that someone will hear them, its just stupid.. sry for the rude writing but I'm very angry about all this with god... its just ppl are not ready ( i think ) to understand that there is no such thing in our nature,We are our gods, We are our devils, We are the one who decide!

  • that's simple.

    i have no clue.

a god is improbable. cause if the principle of cause and effect is valid god would have to have a cause and that cause would have to have one and so on. And i just cant think of a cause for god exept a godgod(or sth) who would have to be more powerfull it just seems improbable.

  • Something I'm wondering is, if the slate was wiped clean and we had not been living with religions existence for the past (however long you think humans have been around :) ), would we, in modern day, figure that there must be a god?

    Feel free to respond however.

  • So, to wrap it up; I believe the universe is God, or the Creator itself, a celestial organism. What I meant by the universe already being perfect... I believe in destiny. The human life is filled with misery and suffering but consider life on a macroscopic scale; what kind of life happens inside of you, in the real of bacteria and cells? And to relate it to us; to say God created the universe for us, is as if the germs inside of you think you were created solely for their survival and host.

  • What I believe is a truth, is the "Quantum Crunch Theory." That is, the universe has already existed limitless times and it will exist for another unlimited time. Moments before the Big Bang, there was the Big Crunch, where the entire universe imploded on itself. This could be seen as a death-rebirth cycle of Gaia, perhaps each iteration being identical or slightly different; perhaps the universe repeats this cycle until it reaches perfection, unless we're already in a perfect universe. (cont)

  • I find it incredibly hard to believe everything was created out of a mishap; things are just too finely attuned. However, it's an interesting thing to consider that perhaps this is the Nth actual universe (100th, 1,000th, 1,000,000,000th?) where our species was born and the limited capacity of comprehending such vast lengths of time and such spaces makes our minds fold to an illogical explanation, since it's easier to understand with pure faith. (continued)

  • I believe a "God" exists, but not in the sense of the christian religion. I see the universe and everything in it, being a part of God, the background radiation, the vibration of electrons, everything we sense is a part of god. Perhaps what I believe is closest to the belief of Gaia, as the universe itself is a sentient creature and each star, planet and particle is... Well, a cell in this massive organism.

You already know (if you remember) my views on the subject of infinity. (continues)

  • There are endless amount of reason why not to believe in religion.. reality is one of the strongest, the need to survive as species is another.. to end stupidity and to take our place as the intelligent species on earth..

  • I believe God doesn't exist because I couldn't imagine a God that would allow such hardship in this world such as events after hurricanes and monsoons.

I mean, seriously, how is this justified for a just an loving God?

  • Its Simple for me... I don't believe cuz there is no evidence of prove! game over..

  • Why is it always the hardcore believers accusing everyone of being closed minded? :/

  • part 2:

How would God decide to create time? Without an ordering of events there can't be descisions. This would mean that time and God would have to be present at the same time, putting time on the same level as God, making the world of 'time + God' (not simply 'God') the highest reality.

  • part 1:

I know that God does not exist, assuming God makes descisions, and God is the highest reality. Most popular views have these assumptions. I could give tons of problems with these two traits coexisting in a god, but one good example is that God would have had to create time.

    cont in part 2

  • let's try a twisted object-oriented experiment.

let's define a class that represent the characteristics of humans and use it to create human objects, to later make them interacting.

In the class, we have a bunch of characteristics including the name, and an extra label.

suppose the extra label is about reality of god. and each individual has his own.

suppose a human capable of reading another human extra label and answers that to the one who is asking about god. does he tell the truth?

  • I know there is an Almighty GOD. This may seem "silly" to the non-believers but I can see, feel, and hear GOD. It only takes an open mind to do this. "Once I was blind, but now I can see". The best example that I could point out in this small post is: You can not see the wind directly, but you can see when it is at work. You can not hear the wind, unless it passes around something. Does wind exist if you are isolated? GOD does not dwell with us because we are but flesh.

  • If you have a closed mind it is like closing your eyes and looking for something. How can you see if your eyes are closed? GOD will teach you if you are willing to learn. All you have to do is ask, and he will prove it to you.

  • I do not know everything, but what I do know I will share. All you have to do is ask. I am not someone who "claims" to be a Christian, I AM a true Christian. If you are interested in my knowledge be mature and send me a personal message. I will gladly respond to any mature questions or arguments.

  • You don't know, basically, you have to pick a religion and hope you are right.

  • So you can't actually tell which one is actually doing god's will?

  • If you're asking what is wrong with the 'time + God' world:If God is not alone at the top, then God would have to exist inside a natural system. If God is subject to nature, then nature is then the highest reality.

Put another way: A descision maker can't be the only eternal thing, because there must be time to be able to make descisions. That means time would have to be eternal too, and existing naturally, not being made by a descision-maker.

  • I look at the universe and see that there is a sense of "order" and "balance." I dont see how a big bang could have made it so that these things called planets are in perfect sperical shape, and orbit a sun and we just happen to be the right distance away to grow life here.

Besides the evolution thing kinda urks me. Why would we need to evolve to the point that we precive the world as we do? why evolve so much that we can make up stories and invent things that have nothing to do with living?

  • any reason* there are a lot of different versions of the same god that need to be taken into consideration. The god of the old earth creationist Christian is different from the god of the theistic evolutionist. I even know some Christians that don't believe in eternal damnation since they believe eternal damnation is immoral.

  • I don't believe any gods exist or that the word "god" should be used to describe any human experience. I don't believe any god exists because everything that has happened in my life and all the phenomenons that I have ever studied have naturalistic explanations. As far as I know, most popular gods do not work in consistency with the laws of nature, and since I have not seen a god in my life perform something inconsistent with the laws of nature, I do not have much reason to believe in any god.

  • Just a question, consider for a moment there is a God.

Why would the God that created laws of nature need to work against His own creation? Wouldn't the laws of nature suffice to show what He can do?

  • Comment removed

  • I don't believe we need to say a god created the laws of nature. I don't know why a god that created the laws of nature would work against its own creation, but many religions express their god or gods working against the nature we experience daily (e.g. walking on water). I don't mean to debate. I'm just expressing my answers to those questions. I'm open to more questions and I have no problem if you want to elaborate on what you believe. I'll look for your earlier comments.

  • (Continued from last post)

When I take into account, also, the delicate balance that life forms have with each other to survive (such as plants and animals living off one another through oxygen/carbon dioxide exchanges), it seems as if there is some intelligent being out there that must be setting this up. Like a row of dominoes, I feel like the world's events have been set up, and shall fall accordingly.

There's my two cents. Thanks for this video, Lusikka. I like reflecting on stuff like this

  • I've thought about this a lot. I was born into the religion, and I won't lie... it's probably a good majority of the reason why I believe it.

The world is complicated. Our bodies themselves are insanely complex. When I study the stars and planets, seeing what normally happens in the universe, it's hard to believe that our planet ended up being something special on accident.

(I'm running out of character space. I'll post a continuation)
